Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 5The historical possibility and necessity of (Ilyenkov's) anti-innatism(SAGE PUBLICATIONS LTD, 2017) Azeri, SiyavesAn important aspect of Evald Ilyenkov's theory of social mind is anti-innatism. Anti-innatism is not only the necessary logical outcome of Ilyenkov's overall philosophical system and in particular of his anti-reductionism, but also it is a socio-historically possible and necessary consequence of the capitalist mode of production, which amounts to the formation of a gap between socially formed human knowledge and growth of the productive powers, on the one hand, and value-producing labour, on the other.Article Citation - WoS: 20Citation - Scopus: 21Theoretical and experimental investigations on corrosion control of mild steel in hydrochloric acid solution by 4-aminothiophenol(EMERALD GROUP PUBLISHING LTD, 2019) Yildiz, Resit; Mert, Basak DogruPurpose This paper aims to study inhibitory effect of 4-aminothiophenol on the corrosion of mild steel (MS) in 0.5 M HCl. Design/methodology/approach In this study, electrochemical experiments, quantum chemical calculations, potentiodynamic measurements, linear polarization resistance and scanning electron microscopy were used. Findings The experimental results suggest that this compound is efficient corrosion inhibitor and the inhibition efficiencies increase with increasing their (from 0.5 to 10.0 mM.) concentrations. This reveals that inhibitive actions of inhibitors were mainly due to adsorption on mild steel surface. The adsorption of these inhibitors was found to obey Langmuir adsorption model. The computed quantum chemical features show good correlation with empirical inhibition efficiencies. Originality/value The 4-aminothiophenol is suitable inhibitor for application in closed-circuit systems against corrosion. The study is original and has great impact in industrial area. The obtained theoretical results have been adapted with the experimental data.Article A Turkish Glance at the Basic Concepts of Heidegger's Ontology of the Openness(BEYTULHIKME FELSEFE CEVRESI, 2016) Keskin, MesutAs the current study gives a general description on 'Gewaltsamkeiten' of Heidegger's philology, it is aimed at the translation of the basic concepts of Heidegger's and their nearly field of meaning: "Das Sein", "das Seiende" "seiend", "das Nichts", "das Ist" etc. In its main axis, the question "How to translate Heidegger?" is inherent, as well as in search of the reply to this question. This study is a scientific 'revision' that leads to a " trotzdem denken" on the general results of the Turkish equivalences of the basic concepts treated in the Introduction to Metaphsics and also should be considered as a first-hand contribution to Turkish terminological studies. The target at this direction that because of its position is based on the text 'Introduction to Metaphysics' is to search the ways how one lets Heidegger speak Turkish and to give new perspectives and proposals for an in Turkish building Heidegger's philology from the nearly/far space of language and culture of word being of Turkish language.Conference Object Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Investig. ion of the Effect of Beta Source and Phosphors on Photovoltaic Cells(AMER INST PHYSICS, 2017) Yuruk, Reyyan Kayak; Tutunculer, Hayriye; Akkus, B; Oktem, Y; Dogan, GS; Guzelcimen, FIn this study, conversion of kinetic energy from the decay of a radioactive isotope to electricity is investigated by using the direct and the indirect conversion methods. In this context, simple nuclear battery models arc designed. Analysis for the effect of low-activity radiation from Pm147 and Sr90 beta sources on photovoltaic Si solar cell is presented. Beta radioluminescence nuclear battery models consist of a beta source, a phosphor layer and a solar cell. Phosphor layers with different mass thicknesses are prepared from ZnS:CuCl and SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphors. Both the influence of beta sources and the phosphor layers on battery performance is analyzed separately. Effect of beta sources, phosphors are observed on solar cell by measuring the short circuit current and open circuit voltage. The efficiency of the battery models is determined with the obtained results. Furthermore, short circuit current values are analyzed at various times during the irradiation.Article Identity and Style Armenian-Ottoman Churches in the Nineteenth Century(BRILL, 2015) Wharton, Alyson; Gharipour, M…Conference Object Covalent immobilization of benzoylformate decarboxylase on magnetic solid support and its carboligation reactivity(WILEY-BLACKWELL, 2014) Tarhan, T.; Tural, B.; Tural, S.…Article Citation - WoS: 13Citation - Scopus: 17DROUGHT TOLERANCE INDICES OF SELECTED LANDRACES AND BREAD WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM L.) GENOTYPES DERIVED FROM SYNTHETIC WHEATS(CORVINUS UNIV BUDAPEST, 2016) Aktas, H.The present study was performed to determine performance of selected four synthetic derived bread wheat genotypes, four bread wheat landraces and four modern wheat genotypes under rain-fed and supplemented irrigation experiments based on randomized complete block design with four replications at GAP International Agricultural Research and Training Center, Diyarbakir, Turkey in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 growing seasons. According to results of pairwise correlation and biplot analysis, significant and positive correlation was observed between grain yield in stress condition (Ys) and stress tolerant index (STI), geometric mean productivity (GMP), mean productivity (MP), harmonic productivity (HM), yield stability index (YSI), yield index (YI), drought resistance index (DI) and stress non-stress production index (SNPI) indicating these indices can be used as parameters for evaluating drought tolerant genotypes. Negative correlation between grain yield in stress (Ys) with SSI and no correlation with TOL indicated that these indices should be used in severe drought conditions for screening genotypes. Number seed in spike (NSS), plant height (PH) and thousand kernel weight (TKW) correlated with grain yield in stress conditions (Ys) according to biplot analysis, also genotypes with lower reduction relating to these traits had higher yield in stress conditions. According to results SEN-DER genotypes G7, G10, landrace group genotype G11 (Sorik) were determined as the most tolerant genotypes to be used to improve drought tolerant varieties, while modern wheat genotypes G4 (Ceyhan-99) and G2 (Tekin) were high productive in irrigation conditions and low productive in rain-fed conditions.Conference Object Investigation of cognitive functions with Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale's comprehension subtest and Mini-Mental State Examination in patients with end-stage renal diseases(WILEY-BLACKWELL, 2015) Karaoglan, Mehmet; Emre, M. Hanifi; Demirtas, Yasemin; Sahin, Idris; Taskapan, Hulya…Article Citation - WoS: 8EVALUATION OF BREAD AND EINKORN WHEAT UNDER IN VITRO DROUGHT STRESS(PAKISTAN AGRICULTURAL SCIENTISTS FORUM, 2017) Aslan, D.; Aktas, H.; Ordu, B.; Zencirci, N.The purpose of this study was to investigate the resistance of bread and einkorn wheat genotypes under in vitro conditions against drought stress during germination. Twelve bread and ten einkorn wheat genotypes were used as plant material and seven drought stress levels were applied based on a three-replicate factorial restricted randomized block design in order to investigate their effects on germination rate (GR), germinating power (GP), coleoptile length (CL), shoot length (SL), root length (RL), shoot root length ratio (SRLR), root fresh weight (RFW), root dry weight (RDW), and root fresh dry weight ratio (RFDWR) during the year 2014-2015. PEG - 6000 was used to evaluate the effect of drought stress under in vitro conditions on the wheat genotypes. The values of all traits were decreased by the increased effect of PEG levels (p = 0.05). The results of the variance analysis showed that the genotypes had significant statistical differences for the examined traits under drought stress (p < 0.05). According to the results of the GGE biplot analysis, of the total variation between the genotypes and traits investigated under drought stress (75.97%), PC1and PC2 represented 51.51% and 24.47%, respectively. In addition, einkorn wheat populations were located in the sector of GR, GP, and SRL, which means that these populations had a greater performance for these traits under drought stress conditions. Bread wheat and einkorn genotypes behaved differently for the traits under drought stress. It is considered that the results of the field and in vivo experiments for cold and drought stress will contribute to producing reliable suggestions.Article Citation - WoS: 1Reflections from a Matt Surface: On fine arts education in Turkey(TAYLOR & FRANCIS LTD, 2016) Gurelli, KutluThe relatively short history of the modern art education in Turkey inevitably mirrors the constitutional predicaments that the young nation undergoes for nearly a century. The article aims to survey the pivotal implementations, starting from the early days of the Republic, and brings close together an evaluative reading about what has been done to keep the Turkish higher education in fine arts relative and up to date. Consequently, the main focus has been on and about the manifold complexities that arose as a result of such pitfalls like the absenceand in some cases, also the presenceof mandatory legislative frameworks, art's and art education's assumed role and promise in the university context and the both mutual and separate motives of academics and students in the field. It can be said that the symptomatic qualities put forward a set of associations in-between those issues, causing a similarity among the key problems. Most apparent of those are about to be on the difficulty of translationfrom one expression, structure, history, modality, experience or body of knowledge into another. Thus, the futility and dulling caused by the widespread institutional and individual custom of metaphrasing could be identified as a core issue whereas the necessity to paraphrase and to contextualize gains critical urgency. The concept of artistic research discussed in this context is a possible mode of structuring and programming the art education itself that could, it is hoped, be antidotal to the existing alienating and anaesthetic practicewhich becomes especially significant today in a public institutional education environment that is expected to assure a free, relevant and worthy higher arts education that still has a chance to avoid the distorting restraints faced extensively by the private sector.Article Citation - WoS: 2Ismah of the Prophets in Mu'tazila(DINBILIMLERI AKAD ARASTIRMA MERKEZI, 2015) Unverdi, VeysiIsmah, one of the special attributes of Prophets in Kalam, is also adopted by Mu'tazila. Ismah is necessary in Mu'tazila for the safety of revelation and for the Prophet to be successful in risala duties. This quality, which the Messenger of Allah has before his prophethood, means he is immune from sins, indecent behavior, disgraceful act, bad moral structure and temperament that would arouse hatred and cause people to stay away from him. Prophet stays away from sin through his own will, and therefore he is not exempt from the proposal. He may commit small sins that won't arouse hatred, but which will lead to lack of merit. Indeed, the prophet is a mortal he is like other people except for his notification duty. Therefore he is also faulted in his humanly speech and decisions. As a result, ismah in Mu'tazila is regarded as a quality that protects the prophethood status. In this context, the quality that Mu'tazila persistently underlines is "not to arouse hatred". The main reason of the fact that they claim only acts that wouldn't arouse hatred could come out of the prophet is because they don't want to harm the confidence in prophetic institution In Mu'tazila, the bases of ismah are miracles, salah-aslah (God does for men what is to their greatest advantage, benefit) and justice principle, the principle of grace and prophet of hujjat. Accordingly, God has bestowed his favor on people by sending the prophet to let them know their interests. For this favor to be the greatest, it is necessary that he is innocent. The fact that he is supported by his miracles, and he is hujjat also requires protection. Otherwise, a non-innocent prophet may not reach his goal in Risala task. And this is incompatible with the fact that God is fair.Article Citation - WoS: 15Citation - Scopus: 15Investigations of Hg(II) and Pb(II) tolerance, removal and bioaccumulation and their effects on antioxidant enzymes on thermophilic Exiguobacterium profundum(Taylor and Francis Inc., 2019) Akkoyun M.B.; Özdemir S.; Kılınç E.; Birhanlı E.Hg(II) and Pb(II) tolerance, removal, bioaccumulation and effects on antioxidant enzymes of thermophilic Exiguobacterium profundum were investigated. The results indicated that Hg(II) was more toxic than Pb(II) to E. profundum. E. profundum was also more tolerant in solid medium than in liquid medium for Pb(II) and Hg(II). The bacterial growth was not significantly influenced at 1.0 and 2.5 mg/L Pb(II) and Hg(II) for 24 h. The highest Hg(II) and Pb(II) bioaccumulation amounts were determined as 37.56 and 54.35 mg metal/dried bacteria, respectively. Bioaccumulation capacities of the cell membrane of E. profundum forHg(II) and Pb(II)were determined. The different concentrations of Pb(II) and Hg(II) enhanced the SOD and CAT enzymes. In addition, variations of the surface macrostructure and the functionality of E. profundum after the interaction with Hg(II) and Pb(II) were investigated by the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), respectively. This investigation obviously showed that thermophilic E. profundum can also be applied for removal and recovery of toxic metals from industrial wastewater. Clearly, a further investigation should be utilized by thermophilic microorganisms. According to antioxidant enyzme activities, E. profundum can be also used as a bioindicator for the detection of toxic metal pollution in natural water samples. © 2019, © 2019 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 5Comparative solid phase extraction study on the U(VI) preconcentration by using immobilized thermotolerant Bacillus vallismortis and Bacillus mojavensis(SPRINGER, 2018) Ozdemir, Sadin; Oduncu, M. As a model performance criterion from the participants' classification of mental activity, accuracy was 85.03%, precision was 85.40% and sensitivity was 85.47%. So, as a result the obtained results support the literature and the applicability of the LBP method for EEG markings has been confirmed.Book Review Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 10eVisa's impacts on travel and tourism: the case of Turkey(EMERALD GROUP PUBLISHING LTD, 2018) Cakar, Kadir; Kalbaska, Nadzeya; Inanir, Ali; Oren, Tuba SahinPurpose The purpose of this study was to investigate eVisa applications. eVisa is a service that falls under eTourism, whose growing use can be attributed to its ability to simplify the process of obtaining a visa. The objectives of this study were twofold: to explore the eVisa experience of tourists who have previously visited Turkey by using the service and to analyse the perceptions of stakeholders who have contributed to eVisa. Design/methodology/approach The present research has utilised two methodologies within the context of qualitative research methods. Data were gathered from tourists by using reviews (n = 1690) and in-depth interviews key actors (n = 4), which represent consumers and contributors' perspectives on the eVisa system, respectively. While consumers dictate the demand of the service, contributors control its supply. The contributors referenced herein are relevant eVisa stakeholders in Antalya. Findings The research findings revealed eVisa facilitation's positive effects on a destination's image and tourists' intentions to revisit destinations compared to when they use traditional visa-obtaining processes. The research findings then present suitable data for destination managers and policymakers regarding eVisa facilitation, followed by this study's conclusions and implications. Research limitations/implications eVisa facilitation can foster demand for travel and tourism while maintaining bureaucratic elements of the traditional visa procedure. From a psychological perspective, eVisa facilitation can positively affect travel motivation to certain destinations where eVisas are applicable, as well as positively influence intentions to revisit tourist destinations. Originality/value The originality and uniqueness of the present study lies in its contribution to the increasing recognition of the significance and positive impacts of eVisa facilitation on travel and tourism demand.Article Citation - WoS: 1EVALUATION OF YIELD TRAITS, QUALITY PARAMETERS AND SEED YIELD STABILITY FOR LENTIL GENOTYPES UNDER DIFFERENT LOCATIONS IN TURKEY(PARLAR SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS (P S P), 2019) Kizilgeci, Ferhat; Bicer, Behiye Tuba; Yildirim, Mehmet; Akinci, Cuma; Albayrak, Onder; Bayman, SerkanLentil is conventionally grown as a rain fed crop, mostly in the Middle East; it's a rich source of protein for human feeding. Yield, seed quality, adaptability and chalky spot syndrome of fifteen lentil genotypes and five lentil cultivars were evaluated in the South-Eastern Anatolia of Turkey. Yield and yield trails as well as seed quality such as protein content, seed rate with chalky spotted and germination rate for of all genotypes were varied significantly. Seed yield were varied from 1337 to 2142 kg/ha among the genotypes. While cultivar 'Sakar' produced the maximum yield and cultivar 'BM 848' produced the minimum seed yield. It was also revealed that genotypes 'ILL10975', 'FLIP2010-94L' and cultivar 'Sakar' was found the most sensitive to cold. Lentil crops with chalky spotted were detected in Adiyaman location and its rate ranged from 42% to 13%. Genotype x environment interaction was significant for seed yield and different stability parameters were computed for genotype adaptability. Ecovalance (W(2)i) and stability variance (sigma(2)i) were low value in genotypes ILL 3375 and Kafkas, but Firat 87 had high values.Conference Object BEAUTY AND ITS PROJECTION IN CHRISTIAN AND ISLAMIC TRADITION(SPRINGER, 2011) Turker, Habip; Tymieniecka, ATThis essay deals with the conception of beauty and its manner of reflection in Christian and Islamic tradition concisely. Thus some influential thinkers in both traditions are chosen in order to exemplify the common conception of beauty. Christian tradition embraced Greek conception of beauty and art; however it brought a metaphysical depth to Greek conception of beauty in the hands of Christian thinkers. The conception of beauty in Islamic tradition was inspired by the religion and the Hellenistic heritage. However, the most elaborated theories on beauty in both Christian and Islamic tradition were done by mystic philosophers. In both traditions beauty is interpreted as something ontological. Accordingly, beauty is being, not a property added to it accidentally. However, the projections of this common conception of beauty differentiate from each other in some respects. While Christian art emphasizes divine intimacy and tragedy in naturalist perspective, Islamic art concentrates on the statement of the unity, transcendence, and eternity of God in stylized form. Yet, this essay does not overlook counter-examples and different artistic ages in the history.Article Mobbing In The Turkish Management and Organization Literature: A Research On The Congress Of Management And Organization Reports And Graduate Thesis(ESKISEHIR OSMANGAZI UNIV, FAC EDUCATION, 2015) Eroglu, OsmanMobbing was first examined in 1984 by Heinz Leymann as health and safety element in the workplace in the form of psycho-social issues. For over twenty years, mobbing has been encountered as an organizational problem in the whole world and related practices has increased day by day. Mobbing continues to create wearing effects on both employees and organizations. The purpose of mobbing is to leave the victims out of the job by creating systematically and repeatedly restless and hostile environment an organization. In this study, the theoretical framework of mobbing was examined and the concept of mobbing was scanned through Google Ngrams statistics; moreover, the theme of mobbing on the Turkish Management and Organization's literature was investigated over the reports of Management and Organizations' congress and the graduate thesis in YOK electronic thesis archive.
