Kur'ân-ı Kerîm'de merhamet

Abstract

Merhamet, var oluşun sebebi, varlığın devamının ve ayakta kalmasının temelidir. "Rahmetim her şeyi kuşatmıştır" (Araf 7/156) âyeti bu gerçeğin bir ifadesidir. Varlık ilâhî merhamete bağlı olduğu gibi insanlar arası merhamet de bireysel ve toplumsal saadetin önemli bir dayanağıdır. İslâm dininin ilâhî ahlâk ile ahlâklanmayı tavsiye etmesinin gereği olarak ilâhî merhamet ahlâkını anlamak, beşerî merhametin ölçüsü ve gereğini anlamak bakımından son derece önemlidir. Kur'ân-ı Kerîm'de konuyla ilgili çok sayıda âyetin yanında gerek bizzat rahmet kavramının türevleri gerekse de merhamete işaret eden birçok kavramın bulunması, merhamet konusuna genişçe yer verildiğini göstermektedir. Bu da konuyu kapsamlı olarak ele almayı gerekli kılmaktadır. Çalışma, öncelikle Kur'an'da ilâhî merhameti anlamayı, buradan hareketle de beşerî merhameti ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Giriş bölümünde, çalışmanın önemi, yöntemi ve kaynakları ele alınmaktadır. Birinci bölümde, Kur'ân-ı Kerîm'de benzer ve zıt anlamlarıyla merhamet kavramına, ayrıca bu kavramla ilgili âyetlerin bir arada değerlendirilmesi neticesinde Allah'ın merhametinin tecellîleri, vesîleleri ve neticeleri başlıklarıyla ilâhî merhamete değinilmektedir. İkinci bölümde ise Kur'an'da sunulan ideal mü'min ahlâkında merhametin yeri, iman, ibadet ve ahlâk ile ilişkisi ve yine âyetler bağlamında hedeflenen merhamet temelli ilişkiler konu edilmektedir. Çalışmamız neticesinde merhamet kavramının ilâhî vasıfların en önde gelenlerinden biri olduğu, İslâm dininin temeli kabul edilen iman, ibadet, ahlâk üçgeninde son derece merkezî bir konumda yer aldığı ve İslâm ahlâkının da dayanaklarından birini oluşturduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Mercy is the reason for existence, the basis of the continuation and survival of existence. The verse in Araf surah stating "As for My mercy, it encompasses everything." (Araf 7/156) is a clear expression of this truth. Compassion among individuals, just like divine mercy, is a strong foundation for both individual and social happiness. Understanding the essence of divine mercy, as Islam requires to be moralized with divine morality, is crucial in terms of comprehending the extent and necessity of human compassion. The presence of forms of mercy in the Qur'an itself, as well as many concepts pointing to it, and numerous verses on the subject show that the subject of mercy is widely included. That is why a comprehensive discussion of this issue is necessary. This study primarily tries to understand divine mercy in the Qur'an, and from this starting point, it tries to elaborate on human mercy. The introduction part includes the importance, method and sources of the study. The first chapter focuses on the concept of mercy with its similar and opposite meanings in the Qur'an. It then, by elaborating on the verses related to the concept, touches upon Divine mercy in the titles of the means, consequences and manifestations of God's mercy. The second chapter contains the focal point of the study discussing the place of mercy in the ideal believer's morality presented in the Qur'an, its relationship with faith, worship by referring to verses concerning issues like compassion and mercy. The study finally finds out that the concept of mercy is one of the most prominent divine qualities, has a very central position in the triangle of faith, worship and morality, which is accepted as the basis of the religion of Islam.
