Deveciliğin bir yaşam şeklini aldığı yörelerdeveye, deveciliğe ve deve güreşlerine ait pek çok uygulama ve ritüeligünümüze kadar taşımışlardır. Geçmişte Yörüklerin yaşam biçimi içerisindeaktif rol alan develer günümüzde güreşler sayesinde varlığınısürdürmektedir. Güreş develerini özel kılan havut giydirme işlemine“havutlama” adı verilmektedir. Akabinde gerçekleştirilen “havut hayrı”deve güreşlerinde ritüel uygulamalara sahne olan parçasıdır. Bu çalışmada“havut hayrı”nın ritüelistik uygulamalarının devecilik açısından önemiüzerinde durulacaktır. Çalışmanın amacı havut hayrı uygulamalarındagerçekleştirilen ritüellerin devecilik kültürü bağlamında toplum yaşamınaolan etkisinin ortaya konulmasıdır.Çalışmanın gerçekleşmesi için öncelikle literatür taraması ve saha çalışmasıyapılmıştır. Güney Marmara’dan Akdeniz Bölgesine kadar deve sahipleri vebu işi meslek haline getirmiş kaynak kişiler ile derinlemesine mülakatgerçekleştirilmiştir. Havut hayrı ritüellerinin doğru bir şekilde algılanmasıiçin kaynak kişilerin izinleri doğrultusunda kayıt ve belgeleme işlemigerçekleştirilmiştir.Camel wrestling, camel raising or the camel itself is an important value of Turkish culture that contains many events and rituals. The areas where camel takes a life style have carried many events and rituals of camel and camel wrestling today. In the areas where camel is dominant, the process of getting camel worn with 'havut' is named as 'Havutlama'. With these 'Havut Hayrı' is a piece of Camel culture that shows ritual events.This study will be based on the importance of 'Havut Hayrı' about ritualistic events. The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of rituals performed in the events in Turkish culture on the life of society in the context of the culture of camel. Firs of all literature review and field study were performed to reach success in this study. A comprehensive interview was conducted with the owners of camels from the South Marmara to the Mediterranean Religion and those people who have made this work (camel works) professionally.
