A total of 281 data were collected via face-to-face survey and convenient sampling method in July and August 2021. After the measurement model was validated, the hypothetical model of the research was tested through structural equation modeling. According to the findings of the research, significant relationships were found between the local resident perceptions of economic and cultural effects of tourism and their support for the development of tourism. At the end of the research, the findings were discussed, and practical and managerial suggestions were presented.Bu araştırmanın amacı Mardin ilinde ikamet eden yerel halkın turizmin ekonomik, kültürel, olumsuz sosyal ve çevresel etkilerine ilişkin algıları ile yaşam tatmini ve turizmin gelişimine verdikleri destek arasındaki ilişkiyi kurulan hipotetik model aracılığıyla incelemektir. 2021 Temmuz ve Ağustos ayında kolayda örnekleme tekniği ile toplam 281 veri toplanmıştır. Oluşturulan ölçüm modeli doğrulandıktan sonra yapısal eşitlik modellemesi aracılığıyla araştırmanın hipotetik modeli test edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre yerel halkın turizmin ekonomik ve kültürel etkilerine yönelik algılarının turizmin geliştirilmesine yönelik destekleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur.
