Three cultivars of lentil (Firat-87, Sakar andYerli Kirmizi) were sown at three different sowing dates (November 10, 25 and 10 December). The trial was conducted in the experimental fields of Kiziltepe Vocational High School of Mardin Artuklu University by using split plots in randomized factorial blocks design with the three replicates in years of 2011-12 and 2012-13. Experiment was established as main plots and sowing times treatments as split plots. Effects of sowing dates on plant height, first pod height, numbers of pod per plant and numbers of seed per plant, numbers of seed per pod, 1000 grain weight, grain yield, harvest index and biological yield were investigated for three cultivars. According to the two years results; effects of varieties and sowing time on the yield and yield components of lentil were obtained significantly. While the highest grain yield per area was obtained at the Sakar cultivar as 237.48kg/da and 210.34 kg/da, the lowest grain yield per area was obtained at the Yerli Kirmizi cultivar as 164.07 kg/da and 148.22 kg/da in years of 2011-12 and 2012-13 respectively. The most suitable sowing time was determined with November 25 in Mardin conditions.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessLentilSowing TimeYield And Yield ComponentsEffect of Different Sowing Time on Yield and Yield Components of Lentil (Lens Culinaris Medic.)
