Zengin kültürel mirası ve özgün mutfak kültürüyle öne çıkan Mardin, gastronomi turizmi açısından stratejik bir destinasyon olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Yerel üretimin desteklenmesi, kadın istihdamının artırılması ve geleneksel mutfak kültürünün korunması yönünde önemli roller üstlenen kadın kooperatifleri, yerel kalkınma ve kültürel sürdürülebilirlik açısından belirleyici bir konuma sahiptir. Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu, Mardin'deki beş kadın kooperatifinin yöneticileri, ortakları ve bu kooperatiflerden ürün satın alan tüketiciler oluşturmaktadır. Derinlemesine yüz yüze görüşmeler aracılığıyla elde edilen nitel veriler betimsel analiz yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Toplamda otuz katılımcıyla gerçekleştirilen görüşmeler, yöresel ürünlerin gastronomi turizmine etkilerini, sürdürülebilirlik potansiyelini ve karşılaşılan zorlukları ortaya koymayı hedeflemiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, kadın kooperatiflerinin yöresel ürünlerin tanıtımında, yerel mutfak pratiklerinin yaşatılmasında ve kadınların ekonomik olarak güçlendirilmesinde önemli katkılar sunduğunu göstermektedir. Tüketici değerlendirmeleri, ürünlerin özgün niteliğine duyulan ilgiyle birlikte, gastronomik deneyimlerde yerel kimliğe verilen önemin altını çizmektedir. Bununla birlikte pazarlama stratejilerindeki eksiklikler, finansal kaynaklara erişimde yaşanan engeller ve kurumsal destek yetersizliği gibi yapısal sorunlar, sürdürülebilirliği olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir. Sonuç olarak, kadın kooperatiflerinin gastronomi turizmi ekseninde güçlendirilmesi; sadece ekonomik gelişmeye katkı sunmakla kalmayıp, aynı zamanda kültürel mirasın korunması ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin pekiştirilmesi açısından da temel bir unsur olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu nedenle kooperatifler, yerel toplulukların desteklenmesi ve turizm sektöründe sürdürülebilir uygulamaların teşvik edilmesinde belirleyici bir konuma sahiptir.This study investigates the contributions of women's cooperatives operating in Mardin to sustainable gastronomy tourism through a qualitative research approach. With its rich cultural heritage and distinctive culinary traditions, Mardin is considered a strategically significant destination for gastronomy-oriented tourism. Women's cooperatives play a vital role in promoting local production, enhancing female employment, and preserving traditional culinary practices within this framework. The sample group comprises the managers and members of five women's cooperatives in Mardin, as well as consumers who prefer to purchase products from these cooperatives. Data were collected via in-depth face-to-face interviews and analyzed using descriptive methods. A total of 30 participants took part in the study, aiming to reveal the contributions of local products to gastronomy tourism, the sustainability potential of these cooperatives, and the challenges they face. The findings demonstrate that women's cooperatives offer significant benefits in promoting local products, sustaining regional culinary knowledge, and fostering economic empowerment for women. Consumer insights reflect sensitivity toward the authenticity of these products and highlight the value placed on local elements within gastronomic experiences. However, the cooperatives face structural obstacles such as inadequate marketing strategies, limited access to financial resources, and insufficient institutional support, all of which negatively affect long-term sustainability. In conclusion, strengthening women's cooperatives within the scope of gastronomy tourism is crucial not only for fostering economic development but also for preserving cultural heritage and advancing gender equality.
