ACR has toxic effects on the liver and other organs due to oxidative damage. The research is aimed to determine the effects of Selenium (Se) against ACR toxicity. 32 Wistar albino male rats were divided into Control, ACR, Se, and ACR+Se groups. After slaughter on the 28 th day, the blood samples taken from the animals were tested for total oxidant status (TOS) and total antioxidant status (TAS) to assess oxidative stress. The liver tissue sections were evaluated for lymphocyte infiltration, hepatocyte degeneration, sinusoid dilatation, and congestion. IL-6, Bax, and Bcl-2 expression were evaluated with immunohistochemistry. While the ACR group's TOS and oxidative stress index (OSI) values were significantly higher than the control group's, there was no significant difference in the ACR+Se group's TOS and OSI values. The ACR group had a considerably higher histopathological score than the other groups. ACR increased IL-6, and Bax levels and decreased Bcl-2 levels compared to the control, Se, and ACR+Se groups. ACR increased oxidative stress significantly caused toxic effects, inflammation, and cell death in the liver.
