Description
Psikoloji bölümünün temel amacı, insan davranışlarını ve onları tetikleyen bilişsel, duygusal ve çevresel süreçleri anlamaya yönelik çağdaş psikoloji bilgilerini öğrencilere kazandırmak ve araştırma yoluyla o bilgilerin artmasına katkıda bulunmaktır. Ayrıca psikolojinin çeşitli dallarında, uygulamalı ve kuramsal alanlarda çalışmak üzere uzman yetiştirmek de temel amaçlar arasında yer alır.
20. Yüzyılda başlayıp 21. Yüzyılda devam eden modernleşme süreci içinde teknolojideki hızlı değişimler toplumsal ve ekonomik yapıyı değiştirmiş; dolayısıyla toplumu oluşturan bireylerin davranışlarında değişikliğe neden olmuştur. Ekonomik iniş ve çıkışlar, küreselleşmenin getiri ve götürüleri, yeni ve geleneksel değerlerin çatışması, işsizlik, yeni mesleklere yönelim, yaşanılan krizler ve kriz sonrası travmalar insanların bu değişken süreçlere uyumunu zorlaştırmaktadır. Günümüzde teknolojik gelişmelerin hızı, kısa dönemler arasında ciddi kuşak farklılıkları yaşanmasına sebep olmaktadır. Bu farklılık içerisinde yetişen ve gelişim süreçleri önceki kuşaklardan farklı seyreden yeni neslin yetişmesi için ebeveyn ve öğretmen davranışlarının güncelleşme sorunu ile karşılaşılmaktadır. Aynı zamanda işverenin çalışanından ya da çalışanın işvereninden beklentileri farklı yapıya bürünmüştür. Tüm bu koşullar düşünüldüğünde bu hızlı değişim süreci içerisinde bireyin karşılaştığı sorunlarla tek başına baş etmesi yeterli olmamıştır. Psikoloji bilim dalı bu hızlı değişim sürecinde insanların ve toplumların yanında olmakta, onların döneme uyum gösterebilen bireyler ve toplumlar olabilme becerilerine ışık tutmaktadır. Klinik, gelişim, endüstri ve benzeri alanlarda yapılan psikolojik araştırmalar, insanın yeni ve hızla değişen toplumda karşılaştığı sorunların üstesinden gelmesine yardımcı olmayı hedeflemektedir. Psikoloji alanında çalışan bireyler insanlara destek olabilecek çok hassas bir görev üstlenmişlerdir.
The main aim of the Department of Psychology is to provide students with contemporary psychological knowledge to understand human behavior and the cognitive, emotional and environmental processes that trigger them, and to contribute to the increase of that knowledge through research. It also aims to train specialists in various branches of psychology to work in applied and theoretical fields. Starting in the 20th century and continuing in the 21st century, the rapid changes in technology in the modernization process have changed the social and economic structure; therefore, it has caused changes in the behavior of the individuals who make up the society. Economic ups and downs, the benefits and drawbacks of globalization, the conflict between new and traditional values, unemployment, orientation towards new professions, crises and post-crisis traumas make it difficult for people to adapt to these variable processes. Today, the speed of technological developments causes serious generational differences between short periods of time. The problem of updating the behaviors of parents and teachers in order to raise the new generation, which grows up in this difference and whose development processes are different from the previous generations, occurs. At the same time, the expectations of the employer from the employee or the employee from the employer have taken on a different structure. Considering all these conditions, it has not been sufficient for the individual to cope with the problems faced by the individual alone in this rapid change process. The discipline of psychology stands by people and societies in this process of rapid change, shedding light on their ability to become individuals and societies that can adapt to the period. Psychological research in clinical, developmental, industrial and other fields aims to help people overcome the problems they face in a new and rapidly changing society. Individuals working in the field of psychology have a very sensitive role in supporting people.
