2009 yılında kuruluş hazırlıklarına başlanan Bölümümüz 2010-2011 eğitim yılında lisans düzeyinde öğrenim vermeye başlamıştır. Bölümümüz 2014 yılı Haziran ayında ilk mezunlarını vermiştir. Bölümümüzde 2013 Eylül ayından itibaren Yüksek Lisans programı kapsamında eğitim öğretim faaliyetleri başlamıştır. Doktora düzeyinde öğrenim ise 2021 Bahar Yarıyılında başlamıştır. Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümünde kadrolu 2 doçent, 3 doktor öğretim üyesi, 1 öğretim görevlisi ve 4 araştırma görevlisi bulunmaktadır. Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesi Felsefe Bölümü çalışma alanlarının zenginliği üç anabilim dalı içerisinde kendini göstermektedir. Akademisyenlerimiz, Sistematik Felsefe ve Mantık, Felsefe Tarihi ve İslam Felsefesi anabilim dalları altında çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir. Bu üç anabilim dalı altında hem Batı Felsefesinin temel tartışma konuları ve akımları derslere yansıtılırken hem de Doğu felsefe geleneği sistematik bir biçimde ortaya konulmaktadır. Bölümümüz bunu yaparken, temel felsefe derslerinin yanı sıra, zengin seçmeli ders olanağı ile öğrencilerin kendi ilgi ve gereksinimleri doğrultusunda düşünce dünyasını genişletmesine imkân vermektedir.
In 2009, the preparations for the establishment of our department started. Our department started to provide undergraduate education in 2010-2011 academic year. In our department, education and training activities have started within the scope of the Master's program since September 2013. In 2019, education and training activities at the doctoral level have also started. Mardin Artuklu University Department of Philosophy has 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 4 assistant professors, 2 lecturers and 3 research assistants. The Department of Philosophy at Mardin Artuklu University sees itself as the heritage of the two thousand year old Nisibis Academy and stands out with the richness of its fields of study. The richness of the fields of study is manifested in three departments. Our academicians continue their studies under the departments of Systematic Philosophy and Logic, History of Philosophy and Islamic Philosophy. Under these three departments, both the main debates and currents of Western Philosophy are reflected in the courses and the Eastern philosophical tradition is presented in a systematic manner. In addition to the basic philosophy courses, the department also offers a wide range of elective courses, allowing students to expand their world of thought in line with their own interests and needs.
