MARDİN'DE HALKIN TURİZM ALGISI

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı sahip olduğu kültürel ve tarihi mirasıyla turizm için ilgi çekici bir destinasyon olan Mardin'de yaşayan halkın turist ve turizm algısını belirlemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen ve Mardin'de yaşayan 445 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanması amacıyla turizmin ekonomik, sosyal ve çevresel etkilerinin olumlu ve olumsuz yönleriyle değerlendirildiği 27 maddelik bir veri toplama aracı geliştirilmiştir. Anket verilerinden yapılan analizlere göre şehir halkı bölgede turizm sektörünün gelişmesiyle ortaya çıkabilecek değişimler için pozitif yönde görüş belirtmişlerdir. Turizmi olumsuz yönleriyle algılayanların ise katılmıyorum noktasına yakın düzeyde görüş bildirdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca yine bölgede yaşayan insanlar turizmin en fazla ekonomik etkilerini daha sonra ise sosyal ve çevresel etkilerini önemsediklerini anket analiz sonuçlarından anlaşılmaktadır

The aim of this study is to indicate the people's perception of the tourists and tourism in Mardin which is an attractive destination for tourists with its cultural and historical legacy. The sample of the study is formed by 445 people who live in Mardin and were chosen with random sampling. A data collection tool is developed to collect the data of the study in which economic, social and environmental effects of tourism is assessed with its negative and positive aspects. According to the data obtained from the surveys, people of the city stated positive ideas about the possible changes in the city with the development of the tourism industry. It was determined that the people who perceive the changes in a negative way stated their ideas on a level that was close to uncertainty. Also it has been understood from the analysis of the survey results that the local people give more importance to the economic effects of tourism more than to the social and the environmental effects of it
