Abstract

Bu çalışma, Irak'ın çağdaş dini ve bilimsel uyanışın öncü şahsiyetlerinden biri olan Abdülkerim el-Muderris (Biyare)'in kişiliğini ele almaktadır. el-Muderris, dini ilimlerde derin bilgi sahibi olmakla kalmayıp, Arapça, Kürtçe ve Farsça dillerinde de ileri düzeyde birikime sahip, uzun yıllar boyunca eğitim faaliyetleri yürütmüş bir âlimdir. Ancak, sahip olduğu geniş bilimsel etkiye rağmen, önceki akademik çalışmalarda kendisine genellikle klasik bir fakih ve din eğitmeni olarak yaklaşılmış, onun şiirsel yönü göz ardı edilmiştir. Bu tez, el-Muderris'in edebi yönünü ön plana çıkaran ilk akademik çalışma olup, onun yalnızca bir din âlimi değil; aynı zamanda öğretici şiir geleneğini sürdüren bir şair olarak değerlendirildiği özgün bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır. Çalışma, bu amaçla onun önemli eserlerinden biri olan 'el-Vardiyye fi Sîreti Hayri'l-Beriyye' adlı şiirini uygulamalı analiz çerçevesinde incelemektedir. el-Vardiyye adlı kasidesi, yazarın en dikkat çekici edebi ürünlerinden biridir. Hz. Peygamber'in (s.a.v.) doğumundan vefatına kadar olan hayat hikâyesini ele alan bu didaktik şiir kasidesi; sağlam dil yapısı, ince anlam örgüsü ve düzenli bir anlatım tarzıyla dikkat çekmektedir. Kürt eğitim çevrelerinde, özellikle medrese ve geleneksel okullarda ezberletilen bu şiir kasidesi, bilgi aktarımında nazmın etkili bir yöntem olduğunu göstermektedir. Tez çalışmamız, şiir kasidesi ve yazarı hakkında betimleyici ve analitik yöntemle hazırlanmış olup, kasidenin seçilmiş beyitleri üzerinden şu üç temel analiz boyutu sunmaktadır: Bilimsel boyut: el-Vardiyye'nin İslamî öğretici şiir geleneğine ait olduğu kabul edilerek, bu şiir türünün tarihsel gelişimi, hedefleri ve özellikleri ele alınmıştır. el-Muderris'in şiiri eğitim amacıyla nasıl kullandığı; kafiye, ritim ve yapı aracılığıyla bilgiyi nasıl etkin şekilde sunduğu analiz edilmiştir. Fikri boyut: Şiir kasidesinde yer alan akidevi, ahlaki ve düşünsel içerikler incelenmiş; yazarın peygamberlik anlayışı, İslam davet sürecine dair bakışı ve dini yorumları değerlendirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda, Kürt ve Irak toplumsal yapısının şiire yansıyan etkileri de tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma, el-Muderris'in şiirde vaaz ve irşat işlevini ön plana çıkaran, süslü ifadelerden ziyade sade ve etkili anlamlara yönelen bir yaklaşım sergilediğini ortaya koymaktadır. Sanatsal boyut: Şiir kasidesinin biçimsel ve estetik özellikleri analiz edilmiş; şairin Arap retoriğinden faydalandığı istiare, teşbih, kinaye, mecaz gibi edebi sanatlar değerlendirilmiştir. Dil yapısı, kelime seçimi, söz dizimi ve şiirsel formülasyon çözümlemeye tabi tutulmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular, el-Muderris'in sanatsal araçları yüksek beceriyle kullandığını ve anlamı estetize etmeden güçlü biçimde aktardığını göstermektedir. Tezimizin önemi, aşağıdaki temel noktalarda öne çıkmaktadır: Çalışmamız, Abdulkerim el-Muderris'i şair yönüyle değerlendiren ilk akademik araştırmadır ve onun öğretici şiir alanındaki katkılarını literatüre kazandırmaktadır. Eğitim amaçlı şiirlerin edebi analizine örnek oluşturarak, edebi kuramlarla pedagojik işlevlerin nasıl birleştiğine dair yeni bir yaklaşım sunmaktadır. Nazım yönteminin İslamî eğitimin etkili bir aracı olduğunu tekrar vurgulamakta; şiirin bilgi taşıyıcısı, duygusal etkileyici ve ahlaki rehber olarak gücünü göstermektedir. Retorik ve metin çözümleme alanında araştırmacılar için somut bir uygulama örneği sunarak, eğitimci ve öğrencilerin analiz becerilerini geliştirmeyi hedeflemektedir. Karşılaşılan zorluklar, başta el-Muderris'in yaşamına ve şiirlerine dair Arapça kaynakların sınırlı olmasıdır. Kullanılan bazı materyallerin Kürtçe ve Türkçe olması, çeviri ve metin doğrulama açısından yoğun bir akademik emek gerektirmektedir. Ayrıca, kasidenin öğretici şiir bağlamında sınıflandırılması ve klasik örneklerle (İbn Mâlik, İbn el-Verdî vb.) karşılaştırılması metodolojik bir hassasiyet gerektirmektedir. Tüm bu zorluklara rağmen, çalışma şu sonuçlara ulaşmıştır: Abdulkerim el-Muderris'in fıkıh ve edebiyatı birleştiren entegre kimliği, eğitim ve nazmı bir arada sunan özgün bir şahsiyetin portresini ortaya koymuştur. Öğretici şiirin doğru retorik tekniklerle kullanıldığında günümüzde de etkili bir öğretim yöntemi olabileceği somut biçimde ispatlanmıştır. Yazarın el-Vardiyye kasidesi, sadece siyer anlatımı değil; aynı zamanda pedagojik bir yapı sunan, bir şair-âlimin düşünsel ve estetik birikimini yansıtan değerli bir eserdir. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma el-Muderris'in edebi yönünün daha geniş biçimde incelenmesi gerektiğini vurgulamakta; onun yayımlanmamış eserlerinin akademik dünyaya kazandırılması ve İslamî öğretici şiirin yeniden eğitim sistemlerinde etkin biçimde değerlendirilmesini önermektedir. This research examines the personality of Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Mudarris (Biyara), who is one of the prominent figures of the contemporary religious and scholarly renaissance in Iraqi Kurdistan. He combined mastery of Islamic jurisprudence with deep knowledge of Arabic, Kurdish, and Persian languages, as well as educational and pedagogical practice for successive generations of students. Despite his prominent scholarly status, Al-Mudarris remained in most previous studies viewed merely as a traditional jurist and teacher, without serious consideration of his poetic output, which represents an authentic extension of Islamic educational poetry. Hence, this thesis comes to fill a clear gap in academic studies through providing the first research that addresses Abdul Karim Al-Mudarris from a literary-poetic perspective as a poet-jurist, not merely a religious scholar, and relies on analyzing his famous poem 'The Rose Poem in the Biography of the Best of Creation' as a practical model for this approach. The Rose Poem is considered one of the Sheikh's most prominent literary productions. He composed it in an educational poetic style that reviews the biography of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, from birth to death within a solid linguistic structure, refined rhetorical compositions, and an organized narrative style that facilitates its reception by students and learners. This poem spread in the Kurdish educational environment, particularly in religious schools, as material for memorization and contemplation and as a model for using poetry in service of knowledge. This research follows the descriptive-analytical method in studying the poem and its composer, with the inclusion of rhetorical, intellectual, and artistic applications on selected texts from the poem. The analysis was based on three main axes: - The Scientific Axis: This axis addresses the poem as belonging to Islamic educational poetry and reviews the history of this type of poetry, its characteristics, and objectives. It also explains how Al-Mudarris used versification to transmit religious knowledge in a style that considers cognitive structure and educational functions. The study showed that the poem follows a clear educational methodology in which the use of rhyme and rhythm to facilitate memorization can be observed, reflecting deep pedagogical awareness on the poet's part. - The Intellectual Axis: This axis reviews the doctrinal, educational, and intellectual contents included in the poem's verses and analyzes the situations expressed by Al-Mudarris, whether in his vision of the status of prophethood or in his evaluation of the course of the Islamic call. It also highlights the intellectual references that shaped his position and addresses the influence of the Kurdish and Iraqi cultural and religious environment in formulating his poetic discourse. The study revealed a moderate personality in presentation, conscious in guidance, using poetry as a means for preaching and reminding, not for rhetorical ornamentation. - The Artistic Axis: This axis is concerned with the rhetorical and stylistic aspect of the poem and reviews Al-Mudarris's use of Arabic eloquence tools including metaphors, metonymy, similes, and other figures of speech. It also analyzes the linguistic pattern followed by the poet, sentence structure, word arrangement, and poetic imagery formation. The study showed the poet's high ability to control poetic tools and skill in employing them to serve meaning, so that the poem maintains its artistic appeal without losing its educational function. The importance of this research lies in several aspects: • It is the first academic study to spotlight Abdul Karim Al-Mudarris as a poet and highlight his role in reviving the traditions of contemporary Islamic educational poetry, after most previous studies focused only on the jurisprudential and educational aspects of his personality. • It provides a practical model for analyzing educational poetry, opening a door to understanding this pattern of literary production where educational guidance intersects with artistic creativity and contributes to expanding the horizons of rhetorical and critical studies. • It restores consideration to the importance of versification as an educational tool, showing how poetry can be a carrier of knowledge, influential on hearts, and consolidating values and principles. • It supports researchers and learners in the fields of rhetoric and text analysis by providing a comprehensive practical model. During the preparation of this thesis, I faced several difficulties, most notably the scarcity of Arabic sources that addressed the life of Sheikh Al-Mudarris and his poetry, and the occurrence of some reference materials in non-Arabic languages such as Turkish and Kurdish, which necessitated translating and verifying texts. Among the technical challenges was classifying the poem within educational poetry and determining its characteristics in comparison with models of educational poetry in the Arabic heritage, particularly among scholars like Ibn Malik and Ibn al-Wardi. Despite these challenges, the research achieved important results, including: • Highlighting the integrated personality of Al-Mudarris, who combined jurisprudence and literature, teaching and versification in a way that combines cognitive authenticity with rhetorical beauty. • Confirming that educational poetry is still capable of performing its educational function if its tools are used correctly, as Al-Mudarris did in Al-Wardiya. • Proving that the Rose Poem is not merely a poetic text about the Prophet's biography, peace be upon him, but is an educational document that reflects the thought of a committed poet and the product of a linguistic jurist aware of rhetorical methods and ways of influence. In conclusion, the research recommends the necessity of expanding the study of Abdul Karim Al-Mudarris's poetry and examining the rest of his literary productions that have not been documented and verified. It also calls for reviving educational poetry as an important educational and rhetorical tool, especially in contexts of religious education and curricula that integrate knowledge with literary taste.
