Turist Rehberlerinin İletişim Becerilerinin Algılanmasında Turistlerin Cinsiyetlerinin ve Yaşlarının Rolü

Abstract

The communication skill of the tourist guide is seen as a very important factor in terms of the tour experience and tour satisfaction of the tourists. At the point of perceiving the communication skills of the tourist guide, the variability of the age groups and the differentiation of the genders of the visitors in the tour group necessitate the tourist guide to display a behavior by reviewing his communication competence. The gap created in the literature by a study in which the age and gender elements of the tourists are included in the communication skill of the tourist guide has been identified. The present study aims to contribute to the elimination of this gap. The main purpose of the research is to reveal whether the age and gender variables of tourists make a difference in perceiving the communication skills of the tourist guide. Research data were collected from foreign tourists visiting Nevşehir province of the Cappadocia Region through a questionnaire. According to the analysis of the data obtained from 300 people, it was concluded that both the gender and age factors of the tourists did not make any significant difference in the perception of the tourist guide's communication skills.

Turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerisi turistlerin tur deneyimleri ve tur memnuniyetleri açısından oldukça önemli bir faktör olarak görülmektedir. Turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerinin turistler tarafından algılanmasında aşamasında turistlerin yaş ve cinsiyetlerinin değişkenlik göstermesi rehberlerin iletişim becerilerini sergilerken bu değişkenleri dikkate almasına imkân verebilmektedir. Turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerinde turistlerin yaş ve cinsiyet değişkenlerinin beraber yer aldığı bir çalışmanın alanyazında oluşturduğu boşluk tespit edilmiştir. Mevcut çalışma ile bu boşluğun giderilmesine katkı sağlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Alanyazında turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerisine ilişkin çalışmalar yer almaktadır. Ancak bu çalışmalarda turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerini ölçme noktasında çok boyutlu bir yaklaşım benimsenmemiştir. Aynı zamanda araştırmanın temel amacı turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerini algılamada turistlerin yaş ve cinsiyet değişkenlerinin farklılık oluşturup oluşturmadığını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma verileri İç Anadolu Bölgesi’nde yer alan Kapadokya’nın Nevşehir ilini ziyaret eden yabancı turistlerden anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Nevşehir ilinde rehberli turlara katılan yabancı turistlerden 300 anket elde edilmiştir. SPSS paket programı aracılığıyla 297 anket analize dahil edilmiştir. Verilerin analizlerine göre, turistlerin hem cinsiyet hem de yaş faktörlerinin turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerinin algılanmasında anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır
