Master Thesis جماليَّات التَّقديم والتَّأخير في شعر إيليا أبو ماضي (ديوان الخمائل أنموذجاً)(2023) Alkhalaf, Osama; Aladwanı, KhaledThe research examines a well-known phenomenon in the Arabic language, and common among grammarians and rhetoricions which is the phenomenon of (hysteron proteron), and I don't exaggerate if I suggest that it is one of the most common phenomena in the speech of Arabs. The subject of the research is to clarify the aesthetics of this phenomenon and observe it in Ellia Abi Madi's Diwan (Al-Khamael) The research revolves around three chapters: The first one will discuss hysteron proteron, the aesthetics of hysteron proteron, the life of Abu Madi along with his poetry and the ending of Diwan (Al-Khamael). The second one will explore the hysteron proteron phenomenon according to what grammarians and rhetoricions presented in their books. I classified the grammarians into two types: modern grammarians and ancient ones. I put into consideration the chronological order. I started with the ancients discussing first Al-Khalil Ibn Ahmed Al-Farahidi,and then Sibaweh and lastly Al-Zamkhashri. Most of the argument presented by the ancients approved of hysteron proteron having in mind the meaning of concern and dedication. As for the modernists, I chose only three: Fadil Al-Samurraei, Tammam Hassan, and Muhammed Abdul Latif Hamasa. We have seen the development of meanings approached by modern grammarians influenced by rhetoricions. I also classified the rhetoricians in this way, so I started with the ancient rhetoricians. Al-Jarhani was the first one with whom I opened this section because the science of rhetoric began with him, followed by Ibn al-Atheer, and we will see in the research how meanings and aesthetics developed among them. From the modernists, I chose Muhammed Abu Musa and Muhammed Abdul Mutalib, and we will see in their presentation what is useful inshallah. The third: we observed the evidence presented in the Diwan with regard to necessity and permissibility in the chapter. The chapter will also study Diwan (Al-Khamael) according to this phenomenon with regard to permissibility. It will also reveal the aesthetics that exist and result from this phenomenon according to the text and to what we read in the books of the grammarians and rhetoricions. This study will provide a clear picture of this recurring phenomenon in the styles of Arabs, and its purpose is to inform the reader of aesthetics and introduce him to them and to their sources which result from the hysteron proteron phenomenon. It will also make him able to understand the hidden meanings in Arabic speech in general and poetry in particular. Keywords: grammar, rhetoric, aesthetics, hysteron proteron, Ellia Abu Madi.
