Article 3D biomechanical analysis of targeted and non-targeted drag flick shooting technique in field hockey(Drustvo Pedagoga Tjelesne & Zdravstvene Kulture, 2018) Eskiyecek, Canan Gülbin; Bingül, Bergun Meriç; Bulgan, Ciğdem; Aydın, MensureThe aim of this study was to compare targeted and non-targeted drag flick field hockey shooting techniques in the penalty corner area, using a three-dimensional kinematic analysis. Eleven male field hockey players playing in the super league (mean age: 19,82 +/- 1,40 years) participated voluntarily. Seven high-speed cameras (Oqus 7+) with 120Hz refresh rates were used. Field calibration was completed via the wand method. The data were evaluated in two phases: start and finish. Players undertook three drag flick shots to the box using targeted and non-targeted techniques. The angular kinematics and stroke force applied to the stick were analyzed using the Qualisys Track Manager Program V2.12, and ball velocity statistics were gathered with the SPSS 18.0 program. To compare between the targeted and non-targeted shots of the drag flick shooting techniques, t-test was applied. At the drag flick of the players, significant differences were noticed at the angular speed of the right shoulder and the left knee, and the angular acceleration of the right hip in the starting phase, and also at the right hip angular acceleration at the finish phase. When the ball speed data considered, a significant decrease was observed between the targeted and non-targeted drag flick shots. Significant correlation was found out between some variables, at the angular kinematics and both force applied on the stick and the ball speed values (p <= 0.05). In conclusion, to make an accurate target shot the players maximize their targeted shooting rates, particularly by decreasing the speed of their lower extremities.Conference Object 3D Biomechanical Analysis of Targeted and Non-Targeted Drag Flick Shooting Technique in Field Hockey and Training Strategies(ICLEL CONFERENCES, 2017) Eskiyecek, Canan Gülbin; Meriç Bingül, Bergün; Bulgan, Çiğdem; Aydın, MenşureThis study compared targeted and non-targeted drag flick field hockey shooting techniques in the penalty corner area, using a three-dimensional kinematic analysis. On the other hand in body composition, a significant change was observed only in the height parameter in PTG. If a faster improvement is desired in the determined athletic performance parameters in a period of eight weeks in soccer, it may be recommended to prefer core and plyometric trainings in addition to branch training.Article Investigation of the Effect of Using Surgical Face Masks on Aerobic and Anaerobic Performance of Children During Educational Games(2022) Ökmen, Mehmet Şerif; Köroğlu, Yaşar; Sarıkaya, MehmetAim: This study aimed to examine the effect of participating in educational game activities with and without a surgical face mask on the aerobic and anaerobic performance levels of children aged 12-13. Methods: Two male groups, unmasked (n=22) and masked (n=22), participated in the study. Pre-test post-test experimental model was used in the study. The aerobic performances of the groups were determined by the 20m shuttle test, and the anaerobic performances of the groups were determined by the vertical jump test. After the pretest scores of the groups were taken, educational game activities were applied to both groups three days a week for eight weeks. At the end of the eighth week, post-test scores were obtained. These data were presented as arithmetic mean and standard deviation. Independent sample t test was used to compare independent groups and paired sample t test was used to compare dependent groups. Results: Significance level was set as p<0.05. When the pretest and posttest values of age, height and body weight of the groups were compared between the groups, no significant difference was observed (p<0.005). However, when looked at the ingroup scores, it was observed that there was a significant difference in the body weight values of the masked group (p˂0.001). In addition, there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest aerobic performance (MaxVO2) scores of both groups within the group comparison (p˂0.001), but no significant difference was found in the groups’ anaerobic performance scores (p<0.005). However, there was no significant difference between the pretest scores between the groups, while a significant difference was observed between the post-test aerobic (p˂0.001) and anaerobic (p<0.005) scores. Conclusion: As a result, children's participation in regular educational games activities both with and without masks contributes positively to their aerobic performance and it can be said that the aerobic (16.69%) and anaerobic (1.01%) performance scores percentages of the masked group improved more than the unmasked group.Article Investigation of Weight Loss Methods of Wrestlers Fighting in Different Styles and Categories During the Competition Period(Dergi Park, 2023) Sarıkaya, Mehmet; Ökmen, Mehmet Şerif; Kılıçarslan, Gökmen; Bayrakdar, AkanThis research was conducted in order to determine the preferred weight loss methods of wrestlers in the category of juniors, cadets and espoir who compete in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling. 215 male wrestlers between the ages of 14 and 17 participated in the study. In order to determine the weight loss methods of wrestlers, the “athlete weight loss methods and effects scale” developed by Yarar et al. (2016) and the personal information form developed by the researchers were used. In the analysis of the data obtained from the wrestlers SPSS package program was used. Independent t test was used from binary comparisons and ANOVA test was used for multiple comparisons. Significance level was accepted as p<0.05. According to the styles variable, it was found that there was a significant difference between free and Greco-Roman wrestlers in the diet sub-dimension of the athlete weight loss and effects scale (p<0.05). According to the category variable, it was determined that there was a significant difference in the diet and ergogenic aids sub-dimensions of the juniors and the espoir (p<0.05). As a result, it is observed in the research findings that wrestlers usually use the diet method as a method of weight loss. It is thought that one of the most appropriate methods to protect the health and athletic performance of athletes is to apply a conscious diet, which will be more advantageous than other methods. In addition, it can be said that wrestlers consciously and healthily apply weight loss methods as they get older.
