Article 3D biomechanical analysis of targeted and non-targeted drag flick shooting technique in field hockey(Drustvo Pedagoga Tjelesne & Zdravstvene Kulture, 2018) Eskiyecek, Canan Gülbin; Bingül, Bergun Meriç; Bulgan, Ciğdem; Aydın, MensureThe aim of this study was to compare targeted and non-targeted drag flick field hockey shooting techniques in the penalty corner area, using a three-dimensional kinematic analysis. Eleven male field hockey players playing in the super league (mean age: 19,82 +/- 1,40 years) participated voluntarily. Seven high-speed cameras (Oqus 7+) with 120Hz refresh rates were used. Field calibration was completed via the wand method. The data were evaluated in two phases: start and finish. Players undertook three drag flick shots to the box using targeted and non-targeted techniques. The angular kinematics and stroke force applied to the stick were analyzed using the Qualisys Track Manager Program V2.12, and ball velocity statistics were gathered with the SPSS 18.0 program. To compare between the targeted and non-targeted shots of the drag flick shooting techniques, t-test was applied. At the drag flick of the players, significant differences were noticed at the angular speed of the right shoulder and the left knee, and the angular acceleration of the right hip in the starting phase, and also at the right hip angular acceleration at the finish phase. When the ball speed data considered, a significant decrease was observed between the targeted and non-targeted drag flick shots. Significant correlation was found out between some variables, at the angular kinematics and both force applied on the stick and the ball speed values (p <= 0.05). In conclusion, to make an accurate target shot the players maximize their targeted shooting rates, particularly by decreasing the speed of their lower extremities.Conference Object 3D Biomechanical Analysis of Targeted and Non-Targeted Drag Flick Shooting Technique in Field Hockey and Training Strategies(ICLEL CONFERENCES, 2017) Eskiyecek, Canan Gülbin; Meriç Bingül, Bergün; Bulgan, Çiğdem; Aydın, MenşureThis study compared targeted and non-targeted drag flick field hockey shooting techniques in the penalty corner area, using a three-dimensional kinematic analysis. DoğanOral narrative tradition dates back centuries, and it has a great variety of rich culture and colorful motives in literature. Within this cultural wealth, one of the most significant works of art is Dede Korkut narratives accepted as the oldest epic tales belonging to Turks which are the stories that can be shown as the earlier examples of oral literature in Turkish culture. The common point of the tales is to have fantastic expressions. The heroes are Turks, and they usually fight against different actants which can be real or abstract. Moreover, the tales put forward the form of life, moral and cultural values in Turks’ life. Among the tales, one of the most outstanding tales of Dede Korkut is The Story of Delu Dumrul that is read and interpreted in the sense of semiotics. In this study, we handle the struggles and testings of Deli Dumrul as an actant within the context of Paris Semiotic School’s actantial schema. It is a fact that folk tales have some special features such as good is always rewarded while bad is punished. By adhering to the literary semiotics perspective of the school, it is the point of departure of this research to reveal if the situation is valid for this epic tale. At the end of the research, the validity of the general fact belongs to the folk tales stated above is partly actualized in Deli Dumrul narrative. The state of the result in the narrative is solved by taking the support of the supernatural forces and religious values. In this case, the positive ending of the narrative depends on fulfilling the function of both belief and religion positively in the society.Letter BODY AND SPORTS IN THE PERIOD OF MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE(2019) Tazegül, ÜnsalHuman; Since then, attitudes and perceptions towards his body showed positive or negative changes due to various reasons. While the human body was ornamented and pampered in some periods, in some periods it was considered as a malevolent object to be purified by being restricted and starved. The medieval period was also a period in which negative feelings and thoughts were developed against the human body. In the Renaissance period, positive thoughts develop against the bed. The proportions of the human body have been drawn by important figures of the period such as Dürer and Leonardo Da Vinci. The aim of this study, the determine perception of body and sport in European society during the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. In this study, a screening method was used. Saussurean legacy, which heavily sheds light on the semiotic conception of the school proposed by Greimas, asserts the significance of dichotomies for signs to gain their meaning. Accordingly, the study is grounded on the desired and non-desired contrariety to make the analysis with the semiotic square meaningful. It is possible to encounter the traces of the proposed idea pertaining to the struggle of forming an ideal society at all levels of meaning, predominantly at the deep level as the proposed idea represents the elementary meaning of the narrative, throughout the text. Considering the approach, desired society gains its meaning in the face of the non-desired one relativistically. Regarding the opposition theory of Saussure, what is good for the Party is not supposed to be good for the Opponents. For this reason, the idea of creating society is on the battleground, as there is an uphill fight between the ruling Party and the Opponents. The formation of desired society is revealed thanks to the semiotic square by focusing on both positive and negative transition processes. The really interesting aspect that we encountered is the vicious unended cycle and the war that will never end between the stated groups within the framework of the ideology/axiology perspective.Article Cross Linguistic Influence: The Case of Adjective and Preposition Collocations(Dil Eğitimi ve Araştırmaları Dergisi, 2022) Altuğ, Süleyman Alperen; Önal, AhmetThe impact of previously learned knowledge on newly learned knowledge has long been recognized and named as interference. Interference in language is the influence of a previously learned language on any target language. Named as language transfer, this notion may render the learning process harder for the learners and results in fossilization in some cases. Thus, researchers and language teachers should consider this influence and find ways to repair the damages it might cause. In order to provide the field with a study that analyses the effect of cross-linguistic influence in terms of Turkish EFL learners, this study attempts to pinpoint English adjective-preposition collocation that may induce language transfer by utilizing a test that assesses the aforementioned type of collocation knowledge of 291 Turkish EFL learners. The findings have revealed that; indeed, some collocations result from language transfer and a list that contains transfer inducing collocations have been presented.Article Determination of the Objectives of Motivation to Nature Training with Natural Sports Class(Universal Journal of Educational Research, 2019) Türkmen, Mustafa; Genç, Harun; Türkmen, Mustafa ( Eski Adı: Ghazwan Karaem Ali )The purpose of the present study was to determine the motivating reasons of the students studying at the Department of Physical Education and Sports in Bingöl University in the year 2017 in nature sports classes and in participating trekking. The questionnaire that was used in the study was applied to a total of 87 people 30 of whom were male and 57 were female who were selected with random sampling method among 260 students in 2017-2018 Academic Year in Bingöl. After the literature review for the scale to be used in the study, it was decided that the Participation in Hiking Motivation Scale (PHMS), whose validity and reliability study was conducted by Ekinci, E. in 2012, was used. The fact that there are no studies in the literature on the knowledge and opinions of athletes under the age of 16 on doping and ergogenic aids has encouraged us to the study. Methods: The sample of the study consists of 392 athletes under 16 years of age in different sports branches. In the study, a questionnaire consisting of 5 likert and 26 questions about doping substances and ergogenic aids was applied to the athletes by Eroz (2007). Results: As a result of the analysis of the obtained findings with the Chi-square test, it was determined that as the age of the athletes increased, the belief that the athlete used doping increased with the fear of losing. It has been determined that as the family income increases, the tendency to try every way to be successful does not decrease significantly, and athletes with low family income are more willing to try every way to be successful. As the education of the athlete's parents increased, the belief that the use of doping harmed the Fair-Play spirit in sports and that doping leads to unfair competition has been increased. Conclusion: The study revealed that there is a need to reinforce the doping knowledge of athletes. It has been concluded that certain socio-economic conditions are determinants in the use of doping by athletes and that they shape their tendency towards doping. Therefore, it is thought that the trainers, managers, athlete families and athletes about the negative effects of doping use on athlete health is of great importance.Article Determining The Relationship Between Exercise Dependence And Narcissism Levels Of Athletes(INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF LIFE SCIENCE AND PHARMA RESEARCH, 2022) Altunhan, Abdullah; Tazegül, ÜnsalThere exist a positive relationship between exercise and narcissistic personality. Athletes who develop narcissistic personality traits wanted to be trained continuously to be successful. As a result, they become addicted to exercise. Athletes with narcissistic personalities should seek help from experts so that they do not become addicted to exercise. Narcissistic people tend to be addicted to exercise. Narcissistic athletes should be constantly checked by their trainers to prevent them from becoming exercise addicts. There are currently limited investigations that have examined the relationship between narcissistic personality traits and exercise dependence. The purpose of the present study was to explore the relationship between exercise dependence levels and narcissistic personalities of male athletes in wrestling weight lifting, and body building. In this study, narcissistic personality inventory and exercise dependence scale were used as a data collection tool. Statistical software (SPSS 20 version) was used to analyze the data.
