Conference Object The Analysis of the Effects of Olfactive Stimulus in Learning in Context of Educational Technology(Elsevier Science Bv, 2013) Ozdas, Faysal; Yildirim, Bilal; Batdi, Veli; Akpinar, BurhanWhen the educational Technologies, which are used in the process of learning-teaching process, are associated with sensory organs, the least used one becomes the olfactive stimuli. Nowadays, because of being foreground of visual-audio Technologies, Positivism is based on vision and audition but it ignores the other senses. Although seeing and hearing play important roles, the ineffectiveness of other senses is delusion in this process. In this delusion the impact of visual-audio Technologic devices from telescope to television, internet, mobile phones is inevitable. However sensation and learning is wholistic and based on togetherness of five senses. Thus, with the delusion olfactive stimulus which is rejected from the educational field is effective on senses, attention, concentration and memory in learning. The purpose of this study, which is in form literature review, is to discuss the nature of olfactive stimulus the effectiveness in education, areas of usage in context of educational technology, to deduce and to make suggestions. The Melitz model (2003) is remodelled by efficiency wage theory to endogenize unemployment. The model is solved by numerical method. It is assumed that market expansion and competition in the market occur simultaneously. The effect of liberalization on unemployment varies depending on which of two factors, market expansion or competition, dominates the other. According to the results, unemployment decreases when market expansion dominates the competition, while unemployment increases if competition dominates market expansion. In addition, it has been observed that there is an increase in the total amount of production, productivity, and unemployment insurance when market expansion is dominant. Also, it has been observed that there is a decrease in the total amount of production, productivity level, and unemployment insurance when competition in the market is dominant.Article Citation - WoS: 14Citation - Scopus: 21Gastronomy Tourism Through Tea and Coffee: Travellers' Museum Experience(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, 2021) Seyitoglu, Faruk; Alphan, Eda; 11.02. Through interviews with 32 participants at a state university in the United States, including students, counseling staff, and faculty, six key themes emerged: mental health professionals' multicultural self-awareness, focus on reparative services, mainstream mental health theories and approaches, professionals' cultural background, faculty involvement and physical space and confidentiality. These findings underscore the importance of training for professionals, expansive mental health offerings, incorporation of diverse approaches, confidentiality, active faculty participation and suitable physical environments. By addressing these components, universities can enhance the quality of mental health support for international student populations, promoting their overall well-being and academic success.Article Citation - WoS: 2Lake Van Basin Urartian Period Road Routes Survey: First Preliminary Report (2017-2018): Muradiye And Tuşba Districts(Ege Univ, 2021) Gokce, Bilcan; Kuvanc, Rifat; Genc, BulentFor about two-hundred-fifty years between the mid-9th - early 6th centuries BC, the Urartian Kingdom established its hegemony in Eastern Anatolia and the neighboring regions of Northwestern Iran, Nakhchivan, and Armenia, as the most influential political, military, and economic power of its time. Despite the rugged geography and rough climatic conditions of this mountainous terrain, the Urartu thrived by developing a centralized administrative state apparatus. Urartu excelled in many areas of state-building, including road networks. Particularly textual sources and supporting archaeological evidence demonstrate the importance of road networks for the Urartian state. Surveys in Tushba and Muradiye districts have allowed us to identify the main route of the northern capital road, which continues north and reaches Muradiye Plain, and an alternative northern route that follows the Karasu Stream valley towards Muradiye Plain. An eastern route, which enabled the kingdom to exert control in Northwestern Iran, goes through Ozalp district of Van province across the modern border to Iran and reaches Hoy and Salmas. These alternative and auxiliary routes along deep canyons that developed over time suggest that the Urartian state had established an intricate security web in its dominion.Article Müzakere, Hız, Politika: Uluslararası Arabuluculukta Digital Teknolojilerin Kullanımı(Istanbul Univ, 2023) Burc, Safiye AtesThe super -accelerated (high-speed) life experiences and coercive practices of the new world order (Covid and post-Covid periods) have affected and changed the negotiation and conflict resolution skills of international actors. Today, with the pandemic and technological developments, acceleration has become a necessity in many fields. Many international mediators, especially the United Nations (UN), have also benefited greatly from digital technologies that pierce space and time during the most severe times of the Covid-19 pandemic. So, in today's world, where economic, social and technological development continues at high speed, should negotiations and policies keep pace? If so, how should accelerated and virtualised political practices be discussed over conflict resolution? What is the impact of digitalisation on international mediation? This article critically discusses the relationship between digitalisation, speed, politics and conflict resolution through content and discourse analysis of political reports on peacemaking practices of different UN missions, especially during the most traumatic period of the pandemic (March 2020 -March 2021). The study concludes that politics and negotiations need speed barriers because they need time, but they cannot be isolated from the developments and space of the high-speed society, so they need to follow the virtual space at all times and get involved when needed. As the analyses of the missions' reports show, the effective use of digital technologies, especially during the pandemic, has led to a rapid transformation in mediation (from traditional to cyber-mediation) and conflict resolution activities have been able to continue uninterrupted, but the dangers of digitalisation have not disappearedArticle Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Presence of Staphylococcus Aureus, Staphylococcal Enterotoxins and Antimicrobial Resistance in Traditionally Produced Raw Milk Cheeses(M H Schaper GmbH CO KG, 2018) Gurbuz, Semra; Keskin, Oktay; Gurbilek, Sevil Erdenlig; Tel, Osman Yasar; Yigin, Akin; Demirci, Mehmet; Hassan, HalaThe objectives of this study was to investigate the presence of Staphylococcus aureus, distribution of classical staphylococcal enterotoxin (SE) SEA to SEE, relevant gene/s and antimicrobial resistance pattern of S. aureus isolated from traditionally produced raw milk cheeses. A total of 106 fresh white cheese samples were examined. The 25 (23.6 %) of 106 cheese samples were found to be contaminated with coagulase positive staphylococci (CPS). From 52 isolates identified as S. aureus, one or more SEs was detected in 38.4 % of the isolates by ELISA whereas one or more se genes were detected in 50 % of the isolates by RT PCR. SEE (75 %) and see gene (61.5 %) were detected most frequently, whereas SED and sed gene were not detected in any isolates. Overall, 63.5 % of isolates were resistant to antimicrobial agents with 59.6 %, 13.5 %, 5.8 %, 5.8 % and 3.8 % of the isolates were resistant to penicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline, cefoxitin and kanamycin, respectively. The results of this study have revealed that cheeses made from raw milk were highly contaminated with S. aureus, therefore, creates a risk for public health due to the presence of enterotoxins as well as resistant strains against antimicrobial agents.Article Society Defends Itself: the Biopolitical Dilemma, Singularity of Existence, and Social Black Hole in Covid-19(Ilem, 2021) Gokdag, KamuranThis essay focuses on the existential conflict between society and politics that has once again come to the fore in the sense of biopolitical theory with the Covid-19 outbreak. It attempts to demonstrate where and how the theory of biopolitics is insufficient at understanding the individual, who has reset all relationships under the circumstances of the pandemic, while providing a certain viewpoint based on true and logical facts. The essay considers this insufficiency as a common deficiency of the various types of biopolitical theory and correlates this to a historical deficiency that has lacked a concept of absolute singularity (i.e., singularity of existence) that would precede the compromises and necessities associated with life in identifying socio-political origins. Thus, the article argues the theory of biopolitics to have persisted in this sense within the theories of classical order, particularly the Hobbesian theory of social contract, based on replicated historical deficiency. Therefore, the key issue of the essay is whether a non-relational moment of existence exists for any nature or framework that refutes all the responsibilities, concessions, or regularities attached to it such that it cannot be appropriated. The essay affirms this issue through a theoretical probability and attempts to view the circumstances present in the Covid-19 phase not as the moment itself but as its signals, messages, and indications. This moment is conceptualized as a social black hole. Thus, the essay examines the destructive and constitutive role of the moment in which life sinks into social black holes.Article Teknoloji-Değer İlişkisi Bağlamında İlerlemeci Tarih Anlayışına Dair Bir Soruşturma(Beytulhikme Felsefe Cevresi, 2023) Mecin, MahmutTechnology, which is the effort of human beings to give meaning to existence, is a problematic area for many disciplines, especially philosophy, with its multifaceted effects that spread to all areas of life today. Starting from this problematic area, this article investigates whether technological develop-ments can be accepted as a real progress in human history. In the article, the claims of the progressive theory of history are examined in the context of tech-nology and value, emphasizing the value load of technology. At the same time, it is considered that progress does not consist only of technical and quantitati-ve developments for human beings, who are also a cultural and value asset. At the end of the article, it is concluded that although technological progress pro-vides an opportunity for progress for humanity, not every technological deve-lopment means progress in history.Article Turkish Shahnameh Translations and the Transformation of Zoroaster in Translations(Istanbul Univ, 2021) Yakut, EmrullahWhen translating, changes are inevitable between the target and source texts. These changes are often due to the cultural differences, capabilities, and features of the two languages. In addition, the author's point of view, the target audience of the translation, the purpose of the translation or some necessities brought by the conditions of the period may also affect the style and content of the translation. The transformation of the character of Zoroaster in Shahnameh translations, especially in Sharifi's version, is an example of this situation. While Zoroaster, who is understood differently in terms of Islamic and Iranian histories, is presented as a positive personality in the source text, Shahnameh, he appears as a negative character in some Turkish translations. In this study, by determining the personality of Zoroaster in Shahnameh and its translations, the differences are revealed, and the factors that are effective in the translation decisions on the subject are examined. Six Shahnameh translations are examined, and some pieces of information about them and their copies are corrected. The examined translations include theverse translation by Serifi; the translation by an unknown translator and on the order of Murad II; the translation by Dervis Hasan who goes by the pseudonym Medhi and on the order of Osman II; another translation by an unknown translator registered with the numbers TY6131-6133 in the IU Rare Works Library; a third translation by an unknown translator registered as no. 101 in IBB Library Muallim Cevdet Section; and the translation registered as no. 370 in the Suleymaniye Library Husrev Pasha, recorded as belonging to Eyup Sabri Pasha.Article What Is the Role of Religiosity on Political Decision-Making Styles? a Quantitative Study on Adults(Anadolu Ilahiyat Akademisi, 2024) Dokucu, Dogan Bekir; Ayten, AliThe political decision -making process, which corresponds to an individual's determination of which candidate or party to vote for during elections, emerges from a cognitive process. Voters use various decision -making styles in this political decisionmaking process, and the decision -making styles used by individuals vary depending on several factors. Among these factors, it is believed that one significant aspect influencing individuals' lifestyles, cognitive frameworks, and perspectives is religion and religiosity. The examines the relationship between individuals' political decision -making styles and their religiosity level. In addition, the moderating role of seeing voting as a religious duty in the relationship between religiosity and political decision -making styles is also examined. The study group of the research consists of 310 participants residing in different districts of Istanbul, ranging in age from 25 to 65. A Personal Information Form, Political Decision -Making Scale, and Religiosity Scale are utilized to collect relevant data. The research data was collected face-to-face in November 2021. It is fair to say that the findings obtained have indicated strong relationships between political decision -making styles and religiosity tendencies. As matter of fact, it has been found that as individuals' religiosity tendencies increased, their tendencies towards that enabled faster and easier political decision -making styles. Individuals with higher levels of religiosity also tend to exhibit a preference for rapid and straightforward, cognitive shortcut -based, partisan, and intuitive decision -making styles. Analyses of the relationship between religiosity and analytical decision -making style revealed a positive association, indicating that a tendency towards the knowledge -worship dimension increased the inclination towards analytical decision -making style. In line with the data the study has yielded, the parameter of considering voting as a religious duty modarate religiosity and analytical decision -making. More clearly, it has been determined that seeing voting as a religious duty increases the effect of religiosity on analytical decision -making.
