Abstract
In this research study, potassium (K) fertilizer was utilized, and wheat plants were subjected to five doses of potassium fertilizer (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 kg/da K). The experiment involved two types of durum wheat (Hasanbey and GAP) with three replications. Various agricultural parameters (plant height, tillering number, spike length, number of grains per spike, number of spikelets per plant, thousand-grain weight, biological efficiency, harvest index, and grain yield), as well as quality traits (protein ratio), were analyzed. According to the results, the GAP variety exhibited an average plant height of 66.3 cm and the Hasanbey variety had an average plant height of 57.7 cm. Furthermore, the GAP variety had an average of 2.7 tillers, while the Hasanbey variety had an average of 2.6 tillers. The average ear length was 7.1 kg/da for the GAP variety and 6.6 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. Additionally, the number of grains per spike was found to be 39 kg/da for the GAP variety and 37.7 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. The number of spikelets per plant was 17.3 kg/da for the GAP variety and 16.3 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. Moreover, the thousand-grain weight was 35.4 kg/da for the GAP variety and 37.7 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. The biological yield was 588.1 kg/da for the GAP variety and 580.73 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. The harvest index was 25.56 kg/da for the GAP variety and 25.06 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. In terms of yield, the average grain yield was 168.02 kg/da for the GAP variety and 145.03 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety. Regarding the quality, the protein analysis showed an average of 16.16 kg/da for the GAP variety and 15.88 kg/da for the Hasanbey variety.
