Dil kimlik ilişkisi bağlamında Batı sömürgeciliğinin modern Mısır edebiyatı tercüme hareketlerine etkisi

Abstract

ÖZET Sömürgeci devletler doğrudan ya da dolaylı bir şekilde milletlerin kimliklerine ve kültürlerine müdahale etmiştir. Sömürülen halkların Batı eksenli modern yaşam tarzına olan hayranlıkları, kültür ve edebiyat dalında değişime zemin hazırlamıştır. Tercüme hareketleri bu zeminin en önemli parçası olarak yerini almıştır. Hazırlamış olduğumuz bu çalışmamızda sömürge faaliyetlerinin tercüme hareketlerine yansıması incelenmiş, aynı zamanda bu yansımanın edebiyatta yarattığı değişimler de ele alınmıştır. Çalışmamızın birinci bölümünde Mısır'ın sömürgecilik tarihi araştırılmış ve sömürgeciliğin, bir milletin kimliğinde ve dilinde bıraktığı etki işlenmiştir. Bu minvalde Mısır'ın sömürgecilik tarihinin başlangıcı olarak kabul edilen Fransız İhtilali ve Fransız İhtilali'ni takip eden İngiliz işgaline de yer verilmiştir. Buna mukabil ortaya çıkan gelişmeler ve Mısır'ın değişen sosyolojik ve kültürel yapısı da çalışmamızda konu edinmiştir. Çalışmamızın ikinci bölümünde ise modern Mısır edebiyatının temelini atan tercüme hareketleri ele alınmıştır. Tercüme hareketlerine yön veren edebiyatçılar ve bu doğrultuda Mısır kültüründe, dilinde ve edebiyatında oluşan farklılıklar incelenmiştir. Yine çalışmamızda, tercüme hareketiyle birlikte Batı edebiyatından etkilenen edebiyatçılar ve bu dönemde işlenmiş olan konular yer edinmiştir.

ABSTRACT Colonial states interfered in the identities and cultures of nations directly or indirectly. The admiration of the exploited peoples to the Western-oriented modern life style paved the way for a change in culture and literature profession. Translation movements have substituted as the most important part of this ground. In this study, which we have prepared, the reflection of colonial activities on translation movements is examined, and the changes which was created by this reflection in literature are also handled. In the first section of our study, the colonial history of Egypt was researched and the effect of colonialism on the identity and language of a nation was discussed. Within this direction, the French Revolution, which is accepted as the beginning of the colonial history of Egypt, and the British occupation following the French Revolution are also included. On the other hand, the emerging developments and the changing sociological and cultural structure of Egypt have also been the subject of our study. In the second section of our study, the translation movements which laid the foundation of modern Egyptian literature are discussed. The litterateurs who directed the translation movements and the differences in Egyptian culture, language and literature in this direction were analyzed. Again, in our study, the litterateurs who were influenced by Western literature with the translation movement and the subjects that were treated in this period took place.
