Diseases in Social Realistic Novel (1950-1980)

Abstract

Türk edebiyatında toplumcu gerçekçi sanatçılar yazdıkları eserler üzerinden sosyal, ekonomik ve siyasi bir söylem geliştirirler. Toplumun faydasını gözeterek yazdıkları tezli romanlarda, insanların hayatlarının önemli bir yerini tutan hastalıklara da yer verirler. Toplumun sorunlarını gerçekçi bir bakış açısıyla inceleyen toplumcu gerçekçi sanatçılar için hastalık, toplumsal bir sorundur. Hastalığın nedenleri ve sonuçları üzerinden insanların yaşadığı sorunlara temas edilir. Çalışmanın amacı 1950-1980 arasında yayımlanan toplumcu gerçekçi romanlardaki bedensel ve ruhsal hastalıkları tespit etmek ve hastalıkların toplumsal sorunlarla olan bağını ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda hastalıklar tematik olarak sınıflandırılmış, romanlar kronolojik olarak incelenmiştir. Toplumcu gerçekçi romanlarda geçen hastalıkların incelenmesi sonucunda ekonominin, eğitimin, sağlığın, sosyo-kültürel yaşantının hastalıklar üzerindeki olumlu ve olumsuz etkileri değerlendirilmiştir. Toplumcu gerçekçi romanlarda yoksulluk, eğitimsizlik, kirlilik, sürgün hayatı, hapis hayatı, ağalık düzeni, patron baskısı, ilaç yoksunluğu gibi sorunlar; neden sonuç ilişkisi ile beraberinde birçok hastalığı getirir. Üç ana bölümden oluşan tezin birinci bölümünde, dünyada toplumcu gerçekçi sanat anlayışının oluşumu ve Türk edebiyatına yansımaları açıklanmıştır. Tezin ikinci bölümünde hastalık olgusunun tanımı ve yorumu yapılmış, Türk edebiyatında hastalığın edebiyat türleri ile olan ilişkisi dönemsel olarak açıklanmıştır. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde 1950-1980 arasında yayımlanan toplumcu gerçekçi romanlardaki hastalıklar tespit edilmiş, bedensel ve ruhsal hastalıklar olarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Bedensel hastalıklar ruhsal hastalıklara oranla romanlarda daha çok işlenmiştir. Köy hayatının fiziksel güç gerektiren zorlu işleri, şehir hayatının yoğun iş temposu bedensel hastalıkların ortaya çıkmasına neden olur.

In Turkish literature, social realist artists develop a social, economic and political discourse through the works they write. In the thesis novels they write for the benefit of society, they also include diseases that have an important place in people's lives. For social realist artists who examine the problems of society from a realistic perspective, disease is a social problem. The problems experienced by people are touched upon through the causes and consequences of disease. The aim of the study is to identify the physical and mental diseases in social realist novels published between 1950-1980 and to reveal the connection between diseases and social problems. For this purpose, diseases were classified thematically and the novels were examined chronologically. As a result of the examination of the diseases mentioned in social realist novels, the positive and negative effects of economy, education, health and socio-cultural life on diseases were evaluated. In social realist novels, problems such as poverty, lack of education, pollution, exile, prison life, landownership, boss pressure, and lack of medicine bring many diseases with them with a cause and effect relationship. In the first part of the thesis consisting of three main parts, the formation of the social realist art concept in the world and its reflections on Turkish literature are explained. In the second part of the thesis, the definition and interpretation of the concept of disease are made, and the relationship between disease and literary genres in Turkish literature is explained periodically. In the third part of the thesis, diseases in social realist novels published between 1950-1980 are identified and classified as physical and mental diseases. Physical diseases are handled more in novels than mental diseases. The difficult jobs of village life that require physical strength and the intense work tempo of city life cause the emergence of physical diseases.
