Abstract

In this study, it is investigated that clay additive slurry at physical properties the effect of high temperature. For this purpose Istanbul clay used for additive which calcined at 900 ˚C for an hour. Cement used in mortar reduced by 10, 15 and 20% weight replacement ratios against calcined Istanbul clay substituted. Mortar was prepared 50 mm cube specimen and accordance TS EN 196-1. Samples was stored in standard cure pool at 20±2 ˚C temperature for 56 days. After cure it was applied that high temperature to the specimens 20˚C/min gradually. It was exposed high temperature to samples for 60 mins. in desired temperature (250, 500, 750 and 1000 ˚C). The samples’ water absorption, porosity and weight loss is determined, before and after high temperature application. According to the results before and after high temperature, the lowest water absorption and porosity values obtained from 10% Istanbul clay additive specimens. The highest mass loss value 7% observed R sample which in the exposed 1000 ˚C.
