TANRI, ZORUNLU DOĞRULAR VE MANTIKSAL İMKÂN SINIRI

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, "Tanrı'nın mutlak kudret sıfatı nasıl anlaşılmalıdır?" sorusuna felsefi bir yanıt aramaktır. Teistik düşünceye göre Tanrı her-şeyi-bilen, herşeye-gücü-yeten ve ahlâken mükemmel olan bir varlıktır. Tanrı'nın söz konusu niteliklere özsel olarak sahip olması ile mükemmel bir varlık olması arasında doğrudan bir ilişki vardır. Bu açıdan bakıldığında Tanrı olarak tasavvur edilen bir varlığın mutlak bilgi, kudret ve iyi gibi sıfatlara sahip olması mantıksal bir zorunluluktur. Böylece, Tanrı'nın mutlak kudrete sahip olduğu düşüncesi O'nun gücünü aşan hiçbir durumun olmadığı; O'nun her-şeyi-yapabildiği anlamına gelir. Burada, "Tanrı her-şeyi-yapabilir." önermesi ile kastedilen şeyin "Tanrı mantıksal olarak mümkün olan her-şeyi-yapabilir." anlamına geldiği iddia edilmektedir. Bu açıdan Tanrı'nın yaptığı "şeyler"in mantıksal bir tutarlılık içermesi zorunlu bir durumdur. Tanrı'nın ezeli ve zorunlu doğruları (mantığın ve matematiğin doğruları gibi) değiştirebileceğini ve çelişik/tutarsız önermeleri birlikte doğru yapabileceğini; bunun Tanrı için mümkün olduğunu söylemenin neden olabileceği önemli sorunlar vardır. Dolayısıyla "yapılması mantıksal olarak imkânsız olan bir şeyin Tanrı tarafından yapılamaması O'nun kudretine (gücüne) herhangi bir halel getirmez" düşüncesi bu çalışmanın temelini oluşturmaktadır.

The purpose of this paper is to seek a philosophical answer to the question that "how should the God's attributes of omnipotence be understood?" According to the theistic thought God is omniscient, omnipotent and a morally perfect being. There is a direct correlation between those essential attributes to God and His perfect being. Thus, for a being conceived as God, it is a logical necessity to have absolute knowledge, power and good attributes. So, the idea that God has omnipotence means that there is nothing beyond his power; He can make allthings. Here, it is claimed that what is meant by the proposition "God can do every-thing" means that "God can do every-thing which is logically possible". When considered from this point of view, it is a necessary condition for "things" which done by God to contain logical consistency. There may cause serious problems to assert that God can change eternal and necessary truths (such as truths of logic and mathematics) and to say that it is possible for God to correct inconsistent propositions simultaneously. Hence, the idea of that "it will not injure his power when God cannot do something logically impossible" constitutes the basis of this paper.
