Abstract
This study aims to introduce the city of Jerusalem from social, political, and economic perspectives, highlight its religious significance, and provide an overview of Second Sultan Abdul Hamid and his relationship with the city of Jerusalem. It refutes the accusations that he handed over Palestine and Jerusalem to the Jews and Zionists. Additionally, the study explains generally the relationship between the Ottoman Empire and Jerusalem, the reforms implemented by Ottoman sultans in the city, the foreign impact that occurred before its fall, and Second Sultan Abdul Hamid 's diligent efforts to prevent this infiltration through various measures. Key findings of this study include: the Ottoman Empire's significant achievements in the urban and architectural development of Jerusalem; the city's prosperity in political, economic, and social aspects during Second Sultan Abdul Hamid 's reign; his special attention to the city; his substantial contributions to limiting foreign impact in Palestine in general and Jerusalem in particular; his role in raising Muslim awareness about the dangers of global Zionism, which targeted Jerusalem by establishing the Islamic University; and his jihadist stance against the ambitions of Western countries and global Zionism to occupy Jerusalem. The study also highlights that Zionist Jews made significant efforts to weaken the Ottoman Empire, sought to overthrow Second Sultan Abdul Hamid and aimed to occupy Jerusalem specifically and Palestine in general. Keywords: City of Jerusalem, Ottoman Empire, Second Sultan Abdul Hamid, Foreign İmpact.
