Mardin kültüründe ev-ocak kültüne bağlı inanç ve pratikler

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın konusu Mardin merkezde mekâna bağlı efsanelerin derlenmesi ve incelenmesidir. Mekân kavramı, Mardin'in coğrafi ve mimari özelliklerine bağlı yerleşim düzeni ile anlam kazanır. Mardin'de camiler ve kiliselerin yan yana oluşu; mezarların ve türbelerin şehrin içinde evlerin arasında olması; kentin kendine has mimari yapısının bir parçası olan abbaraların bulunması, tarihi hamam ve çeşmelerin şehrin dokusu içerisinde hala işlevsel olması çalışmanın konusunu teşkil eden mekanlara bağlı inanç ve pratiklerin aktif olarak varlık göstermesini ve efsaneleşme sürecinde bulunmasını da açıklar niteliktedir. Mekân özelinde "ev" kavramları tüm dünyada felsefi boyutta ele alınan ve varoluşssal bir önem taşıyan etkenler olarak insanoğlunun zihin dünyasında kodlanmıştır. Bu önem, "mekân", "ev" ve insan arasındaki bağı güçlendirmiş ve kimi "özel" mekanlara bağlı anlatıların ortaya çıkmasına vesile olmuştur. Ortaya çıkan bu anlatılar/efsaneler çalışmada ev-ocak kültüne bağlı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. "Mekân" ve "ev" kavramları "eski Mardin" olarak da bilinen Mardin merkezin kendine has yapısıyla, labirent gibi sokaklarıyla tarihini ve kültürünü söz konusu labirentin içinde hapsetmiş gibidir. Mardin evlerinin güneye bakan cephelerinde bulunan kapı ve pencereleri evlerin mahremiyetini sağladığı gibi metaforik olarak kültürün mahremiyetini de sağlamışlardır. Çalışma her ne kadar "ev-ocak" kültü etrafında şekillenmiş olsa da eve bağlı olarak değerlendirilmesi gereken "dış" (bahçe, abbara, evin bahçesindeki yatırlar) mekanlar da çalışmamızın konusunu teşkil etmektedir.

The subject of this study is to compile and examine the legends connected to the space in the center of Mardin. The concept of space becomes meaningful with the settlement order depending on the geographical and architectural features of Mardin. The fact that mosques and churches stand side by side in Mardin, the graves and tombs stand among the houses in the city, the abbaras are a part of the city's unique architectural structure, the historical baths and fountains are still functional within the fabric of the city, explain that the beliefs and practices related to the space that constitute the subject of the study actively exist and are in the process of myth. The concept of the "house" in the space is coded in the mind world of mankind as philosophical aspects of the world and existentially important. This importance strengthened the bond between "space", "home" and human beings and led to the emergence of narratives connected to some "private" spaces. The resulting narratives / legends were evaluated in the study depending on the home-hearth cult. The concepts of space and house seem to have imprisoned the history and culture of the center of Mardin, also known as the old Mardin, with its unique structure and its maze-like streets. The doors and windows on the south-facing facades of the Mardin houses provided the privacy of the houses as well as the privacy of the culture metaphorically. Although the study is shaped around the "home-hearth" culture, the external spaces (garden, abbara, tombs in the gardens) which should be evaluated depending on the house, are also the subject of the study.
