Sınıf Öğretmenlerinin Öz Yeterliliklerinin Çeşitli Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract

oluşmasına ve öğrencilerin akademik performansına olumlu etkide bulunmaktadır. Yapılan bu araştırma sınıf öğretmenlerinin öz yeterlilik inançlarının ne düzeyde olduğu ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin öz yeterlilik inançlarının bazı değişkenler açısından incelenip değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla belirlenen alt problemlere yanıtlar aranmıştır. Araştırmanın yapılmasında nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan tarama araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış olup örneklem seçiminde basit seçkisiz örneklem yönteminden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 67’si kadın 84’ü erkek olmak üzere 151 sınıf öğretmeninden oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında Öğretmen Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeğinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verilerinin analiz edilmesinde SPSS paket programından faydalanılmıştır. Kullanılan SPSS programı sonucunda yapılan analizlerde ortalama, frekans, yüzde analizleri ile parametrik testlerden t-testi, ANOVA ve Tukey testleri; non-parametrik testlerden Man-Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada sınıf öğretmenlerinin öz yeterlilik inançlarının “oldukça yeterli” düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Sınıf öğretmenlerinin öz yeterlilik inançlarının cinsiyet, medeni durum, mezuniyet durumu ve yaş değişkenine göre ölçeğin genel ve tüm alt boyutlarına göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır. Hizmet durumu değişkenine göre ölçeğin genel boyutu, öğretim stratejisi ve öğrenci katılım alt boyutlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmamış sadece sınıf yönetimi alt boyutunda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarından hareketle öğretmenlere öz yeterlilik konusunda hizmet içi eğitimlerin verilmesi, öz yeterlilik ölçen ölçeklerin güncellenmesinin öğretmenlerin öz yeterliliklerine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

The high level of self-efficacy of the classroom teacher has a positive effect on the formation of a positive classroom climate in the school and the academic performance of the students. This research was carried out in order to examine and evaluate the level of self-efficacy beliefs of classroom teachers and the self-efficacy beliefs of classroom teachers in terms of some variables. For this purpose, answers were sought to the sub-problems determined. Scanning research method, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research, and simple random sampling method was used in the selection of the sample. The sample of the study consists of 151 primary school teachers, 67 of whom are female and 84 are male. Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale was used to collect research data. SPSS package program was used to analyze the data of the research. In the analyzes made as a result of the SPSS program used, average, frequency, percentage analyzes and t-test, ANOVA and Tukey tests from parametric tests; Man-Whitney U test, one of the non-parametric tests, was used. In the study, it was concluded that the self-efficacy beliefs of the classroom teachers were at a "quite sufficient" level. There was no statistically significant difference in the general and all sub-dimensions of the scale according to the gender, marital status, graduation status and age variable of the self-efficacy beliefs of the classroom teachers. According to the service status variable, there was no statistically significant difference in the general dimension, teaching strategy and student participation sub-dimensions of the scale, but a statistically significant difference was found only in the classroom management sub-dimension. Based on the results of the research, it is thought that providing in-service training to teachers on self-efficacy and updating the scales measuring self-efficacy will contribute to teachers' self-efficacy.
