Article The Approach of The Shi'i Exegetists to The Instances of 'Umar's Muwafaqat(CUMHURIYET UNIV, FAC THEOLOGY, 2018) Ensari, Abdurrahman; 05.01. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiKnowing the occasions related to the revelation of the Qur'anic verses is one of the factors contributing to its correct understanding. Since the examples named as "Umar's Muwafaqat" (corcurrences of Umar's perception with certain divine revelatio) is related to the occasion of Qur'an's revelation, they also contribute to the understanding of the related verses. 'Umar's Muwafaqat instances refers here to the subject mentioned after his expression of "I agreed with my Lord in three things." His agreement with His Lord is that he delivered an anticipating opinion, appropriate to God's provision. This is considered to be of the great virtues of 'Umar and of the most important sections of his life. Some narrated reports of 'Umar's Muwafaqat shows that there were many occasions of agreement. Of these instances, the verses that come upon his request that Abraham's Maqam is taken as a place of prayer and the Prophet's wives to veil as well as his statement to the Prophet's wives that God will grant him better wives than them if they give trouble to the Prophet. There have been conducted a number of studies on the subject of 'Umar's Muwafaqat. However, these studies are generally framed by Sunni sources. This study focuses on the way in which the instances of "`Umar's Muwafaqat" included in the Sunni sources are discussed in the sources of Shi'a tafsir. Therefore, the study is the critique of the way that 'Umar's Muwafaqat is handled in Shia tafsir sources.Article Arap Şiirinde Mardin’e Dair Bazı Yansımalar(2019) Akçay, Halil; 05.01. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Article Exploring the Function of Dhihn/Zihin (Cognitive Link) in Majāz in Islamic Legal Theory(Darulfunun İlahiyat Dergisi, 2020) Yaşar, Hakime Reyyan; 05.01. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiSimon Udo and Michiel Leezenberg point to the cognitive traces in the works of ‘Abd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī (d. 1078), named Asrār al-Balāgha and Dalā’il al-i‘jāz. However, neither Simon nor Leezenberg provide an insight whether these traces can be found in other classical sources, where majāz and isti‘āra are discussed. This paper argues that Simon’s and Leezenberg’s argument that the awareness of the cognitive elements in the classical Islamic approach to majāz and isti‘āra cannot be reduced in ‘Abd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī’s works. Rather, that the Hanafī legal theorists were aware of the function of dhihn/mind in the mechanism of majāz. Due to presenting a remarkable theoretical examination of the tropes and metaphors, 13th and 14th century Hanafī uṣūl al-fiqh sources are chosen. To clarify my argument, I will mainly focus on the analysis of the terminology, which expounds the relationship between majāz and mind: Such as, ittiṣāl (ilink/connection), dhihn (mind,) maḥal (space/domain).Article Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 3Kavramsal Metafor Kuramı’nın Kur’ân Çalışmalarına Dahil Edilmesi: Eleştirel Literatür Değerlendirmesi(Cumhuriyet İlahiyat Dergisi, 2022) Yaşar, Hakime Reyyan; 05.01. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Article Molla Gurani's Commentary Criticism of Qadi and Zamakhshari on Their Interpretations of Fatiha and Baqara Suras(CUMHURIYET UNIV, FAC THEOLOGY, 2018) Ekinci, Kutbettin; 05.01. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiThis work deals with Molla Gurani's critique (d. 813/1488) of Qadi al-Baydawi (d. 596/1200) and Zamakhshari (d. 538/1144). The Fatiha and Baqara suras in his manuscript tafsir "Ghayat al-Amani" are chosen as the texts to examplify Molla Gurani's critique. His criticism is mostly related to language, qira'a (recitation and vocalization of Qur'anic text), conceptual meaning and disagreement in interpretations of the Qur'anic verses in question. Gurani primarly criticisez Qadi due to his reputation among Ottoman scholars. Gurani has not only criticized Kadi and Zamahshari in the commentary of the surahs Fatiha and Baqara but also Taftazani and Kavashi. This clearly shows thah he is a well-versed scholar in researching especially in comperative analysis. In this study, our investigation is limited to, however, Zemakhshari and Qadi. This stuyd shows that Zemakhshari is strictly bound to Ahl al-Sunnah. Moreover, the hadith reports are considerably important for him in understanding and interpreting the Qur'anic verses. He closely follows the interpretive traditions of early Muslim scholars, especially on the matters that Muslim scholars had an argeemnet.Conference Object Citation - Scopus: 40Predicting Depression and Emotions in the Cross-Roads of Cultures, Para-Linguistics, and Non-Linguistics(Association for Computing Machinery, Inc, 2019) Kaya, H.; Fedotov, D.; Dresvyanskiy, D.; Doyran, M.; Mamontov, D.; Markitantov, M.; Salah, A.A.; 05.01. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiCross-language, cross-cultural emotion recognition and accurate prediction of affective disorders are two of the major challenges in affective computing today. In this work, we compare several systems for Detecting Depression with AI Sub-challenge (DDS) and Cross-cultural Emotion Sub-challenge (CES) that are published as part of the Audio-Visual Emotion Challenge (AVEC) 2019. For both sub-challenges, we benefit from the baselines, while introducing our own features and regression models. For the DDS challenge, where ASR transcripts are provided by the organizers, we propose simple linguistic and word-duration features. These ASR transcriptbased features are shown to outperform the state of the art audio visual features for this task, reaching a test set Concordance Correlation Coefficient (CCC) performance of 0.344 in comparison to a challenge baseline of 0.120. Our results show that non-verbal parts of the signal are important for detection of depression, and combining this with linguistic information produces the best results. For CES, the proposed systems using unsupervised feature adaptation outperform the challenge baselines on emotional primitives, reaching test set CCC performances of 0.466 and 0.499 for arousal and valence, respectively. © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Seasonal effects of the fatty acid composition of phospholipid and triacylglycerol in the muscle and liver of male Salmo trutta macrostigma(GRASAS Y ACEITES, 2021) Kaçar, Semra; Kaya, H.; Başhan, M.; 09.03. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiThe seasonal effects on the fatty acid composition of triacylglycerol (TAG) and phospholipid (PL) in the muscle and liver of male Salmo trutta macrostigma were determined using the gas chromatographic (GC) method. The fatty acid (FA) compositions of total lipid, PL and TAG fractions were determined in muscle and liver tissues of S. trutta macrostigma. The phospholipids contained a higher proportion of 16:0 compared to the TAG in the muscle tissue of S. trutta macrostigma. Docosahexaenoic acid (22:6 ω-3) and eicosapentaenoic acid (20:5 ω-3) contents were high in both muscle and liver tissues. The total lipid contents in the muscle and liver were 1.07-2.45 and 3.00-4.64%, respectively. S. trutta macrostigma is a rich source of ω-3 and ω-6, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) with numerous benefits to human health. © 2021 CSIC Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas. Department of Basic Islamic Sciences / Temel İslam Bilimleri Bölümü; 05. Faculty of Islamic Sciences / İslami İlimleri Fakültesi; 01. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiThis study examines the philological data criteria used for exploring the genuine meanings and denominators of Arabic verbatim of the Qur'an by Muslim exegetes of the classical period, with a special focus on the philological ramification of the commentary of dhalika l-kit & amacr;b pattern in Q 2:2. Having attained the status of a corpus (kitab) in the aftermath of a very long-phased oral tradition, the Qur'an's textus receptus reflects both portrayals of verbality and scriptural traits embedded in its Arabic verbatim yielded by the compilation process. The Qur'an, representing a junction spot for oral and written traditions in Arab culture, is known to be molded according to the Arabic language register and also formalized the language's post facto grammar. In this vein, the Qur'anic text bears a reflexive affiliation with its pertinent language. This article argues that the lingual reciprocity between the Qur'anic text and its language underwent a critical suspension through commentaries when the case was Qur'an's al-kitab. In this article, the first layer of the data reflects the historical background of the term kitab. Then, it construes the word within Qur'an's cross-references. It exemplifies commentaries on the dhalika l-kit & amacr;b pattern, circumventing philological evidence. After elucidating different grounds leading to philological ramification, I argue that a philological inference from the Qur'an nests in its fullest sense only when the commentator credits historical data and cross-references within the Qur'anic content.
