Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiArif Qazvini, who is referred to as an Iranian national poet, had polemic against some of the Ottoman poets and intellectuals during both his years in Istanbul and after on. His 43-couplet qasida which he titled "Suleyman Nazif " is the best known of all. In essence, this qasida is a kind of debate and fight between Pan-Turkist and Pan-Iranist idea. Both Suleyman Nazif and Arif Qazvini adopted stand according to the political and social changes of their time and expressed their opinions by help of literature. However, they used a harsh and less than polite language toward each other. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiThere are some poems that have an important place in understanding of his emotions and thoughts, reflecting the literary and artistic aspect of the Afghani, one of the important ideas and politicians of the 20th century Islamic world. Being familiar with Arabic and Persian literature, as well as literatures of different languages, the Afghani has despacthed messages or has been alone with his own inner world through the poems he had written or noted in a variety of ways. The longest and most voluminous of her poems is Sakinâme with a total of ninety couplets. In addition to this, there are also poetry and single poems written in Arabic, Persian and Persian in the form of rubai, gazel, mesnevi and kaside. As these poems reflect the poetic, literary and aesthetic taste of Afghan; the political difficulties in his view of the turbulent (his) life and his political difficulties are reflected in his pseudonym language. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiThe main motif behind most of Shakespeare’s tragedies is the concept of Love. This concept may also be seen as the major theme in many of the stories of Rumi’s Mathnawi and Dīvân–e Shams. The fate of this love is usually the death of the lovers by the end of the story. This common theme, along with the common ending of such stories, is the main topic of this article. In this work, the definitions of love are briefly provided according to Sufism and Rumi’s ideas, and then 11 common items with respect to the concept of love are studied in the works of these two great literary figures. The data for this research have been collected based on Shakespeare’s tragedies, and Rumi’s verses, and the concept of love has been studied in two levels of Form and content. The idea of love forms the basis of Shakespeare’s tragedies, and leads to the death of the lovers. Therefore, death is also studied within this framework along with love. The ultimate goal of this article is to provide an analysis of the common features of love in Shakespeare’s work from the eye of an oriental, Persian-speaking reader, who is more acquainted with Rumi’s works. Among Shakespeare’s tragedies, Antony and Cleopatra has been chosen as the main source, however, the other great tragedies of his have not been neglected. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiSasaniler döneminde Pehlevi diliyle yazıya aktarılmış Dreḫt-ī Āsūrīg (Asur Ağacı), doğu edebiyatlarında dıştan bakınca “din dışı” gibi görünen metinlerdendir. Ayrıca doğunun en kadim münâzara ve müfâhare örneklerindendir. Bir keçi ile bir hurma ağacının atışmasını ve üstünlük yarışını konu alan anlatıda keçi, hayvancılıkla uğraşan Zerdüştî toplulukları, karşısındaki hurma ağacı ise Mezopotamya menşeli çok tanrılı Asur topluluklarını ezoterik şekilde temsil eder. Bu yönüyle eser Aryan ve Semitik halkların münâzarası olarak da görülebilir. Münâzaranın bunun dışında da farklı sembolik yönleri ve semantik özellikleri sözkonusudur. Toplam 121 bentten oluşan ünazaranın farklı dillerde birçok çevirisi bulunmaktadır. Bir kopyası Mehraban Kay-Khosrow Kodeksi arasında günümüze kadar ulaşmış münâzarada, huzvariş kelimelerde olduğundan; satır aralarında semitik dillerden Süryancanın izlerine de rastlamak mümkündür. Bu makalede, Pehlevi yazılı mirası içerisinde yer alan Dreḫt-ī Āsūrīg’in incelemeli tanıtımı yapılmış ve ortografik transkripsiyonuyla birlikte Türkçe çevirisi eksiksiz şekilde araştırmacılara sunulmuştur. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiIn the intellectual history of Iran, Mirza Aga Khan Kirmanî has been one of the fiercest advocates of Sultan Abdul Hamid II’s idea of Panislamism during his years in Istanbul along with other figures such as Sayyid Jamaluddin Afghani and Sheikh Ahmad Ruhi. We can see the influence of the Sultan Abdul Hamid II in particular and the Eastern politics of Ottomans in general in his thoughts and Ode. Besides being known as one of the reformers of Persian Literature of Qajar and Constitutional era, he is also accepted as a significant thinker and writer of Iranian constitutionalism amongst Mirza Malkom Khan, Zayn al-Abidin Maraghi, Ahundov, Talibov and other clerics and disciples. He was a literary criticist who simultaneously pursued a multi-faceted political life which would even lead to a political crisis between the Ottomans and the Iranians. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiIn many parts in his poetry, articles, play and opera writings Mirzadeh Eshghi, one of the most significant poets of Iranian Constitutionalism era, talks of the Ottoman, Bab-i Ali, Istanbul and Turks. He lived in Istanbul during First World War. Eshghi, as a poet and journalist at the same time, was influenced by ottoman idea and criticized the Young Turks on some their assertions and ideas. In this sense, he was one the major personalities that reflect the Iranian intellectual upheld view of the Ottoman. Eshghi, is considered as a patriotic poet of Iranian Constitutionalism period. Ottoman empire got potrayed true to the political, cultural and literary conjunctural of the time in his poetry. Altough, this could be said to be particle to Eshghi, we can see the same trace in other patriotic Iranian poets of the time. He met Turkish intellectuals such as Ali Nihad Tarlan, Huseyin Danis Pedram and Riza Tevfik. We can infer that he was influenced by Tevfik Fikret's reformist ideas, yet he would still talk in favour of Ottoman-Iranian alliance against the West, or answer Turanists very harshly on occasion, or accuse the Iranian committee of treachery for negotiating with Ottomans. Eshghi, had a short but accomplished life. Mardin Artuklu University / Mardin Artuklu ÜniversitesiThis article focuses on the role of the Kurds in the Safavid State during its establishment and restructuring period and aims to describe the influence of the Kurds on Shah Ismail Safavi ’s achievements and acquisition of power. The Ottomans reacted in a serious and multi-faceted way to the actively ideological and strategic role and assistance of the Kurds as regards Shah Ismail’s ascension to the throne. This period also inaugurates the beginning of a history of the Kurds who remained in the territories of the Ottoman State. Of the sources on this period, the Selimshahname of İdris-i Bitlisi is undoubtedly the most important.
