Article Comparison Of Different Life Stages Of Total, Phospholipid And Triacylglycerol Fatty Acids Of Lucilia Sericata(ABADER (Adıyaman Bilimsel Arastırmalar Dernegi), 2021) Kizmaz, V.Lucilia sericata, which belongs to the Calliphoridae family (Diptera), is used as a debridement tool in open necrotic wounds that do not respond to conventional treatments. Knowing the total, phospholipid (PL), and triacylglycerol (TAG) fatty acid content of L. sericata fly, which is important for health, in its different stages is important both in terms of taxonomy and physiology. After L. sericata samples used in the study were obtained commercially, they were bred under laboratory conditions and then the fatty acids in different stages were analyzed by gas chromatography. Sixteen fatty acids are determined as a result of the analysis. When individual fatty acids are considered, Palmitic acid (16:0), Palmitoleic Acid (16:1n-7), oleic acid (18:1n-9) and Linoleic Acid (18:2n-6) were found to be major ones, while the others are detected in trace amounts. It is determined that, out of total, PL and TAG, saturated fatty acids (SFA) are found at a high percentage in the eggs, monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) are the highest in the larvae, and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are the highest in fly and pupa. Furthermore, out of total, PL and TAG, ∑PUFA is at a low percentage in the egg and the larval stages. Different results are found at different stages in this study. This may be because fatty acid percentages that change during metamorphosis meet different physiological needs at different phases. © 2021, ABADER (Adıyaman Bilimsel Arastırmalar Dernegi). To increase the efficiency, we univariately optimized the pH, buffer volume, CAMNP mass, eluent concentration and volume, mixing type and time, temperature, and interaction time. The study identified the limits of detection and quantification values for CAMNP-SPE-SQT-FAAS under the specified optimum conditions to be 12.30 and 41.00 mu g L-1, respectively. The newly developed method improved the detection power of traditional FAAS by 13.25 times. The findings of this study report a sensitive and accurate method to determine trace zinc in complex matrices.Article In-Vitro Antioxidant, Cytotoxic, Cholinesterase Inhibitory Activities and Anti-Genotoxic Effects of Hypericum Retusum Aucher Flowers, Fruits and Seeds Methanol Extracts in Human Mononuclear Leukocytes(Iranian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research, 2017) Keskin, C.; Aktepe, N.; Yükselten, Y.; Asuman,; Boğa, M.The present study investigates the antioxidant, anticancer, anticholinesterase, anti-genotoxic activities and phenolic contents of flower, fruit and seed methanol extracts of Hypericum retusum AUCHER. The amounts of protocatechuic acid, catechin, caffeic acid and syringic acid in methanol extracts were determined by HPLC. Total phenolic content of H. retusum seed extract was found more than fruit and flower extracts. The DPPH free radical scavenging activity of flower and seed methanol extracts showed close activity versus BHT as control. Among three extracts of H. retusum only flower methanol extract was exhibited considerable cytotoxic activities against to HeLa and NRK-52E cell lines. Moreover, seed methanol extract showed both acetyl and butyrl-cholinesterase inhibitory activity. The highest anti-genotoxic effects were seen 25 and 50 μg/mL concentrations. In this study, the extracts showed a strong antioxidant and anti-genotoxic effect. The seed extract was more efficient- than extracts of fruit and flowers. Our results suggest that the antioxidant and anti-genotoxic effects of extracts depend on their phenolic contents. Further studies should evaluate the in-vitro and in-vivo the benefits of H. retusum seed methanol extracts. © 2017 by School of Pharmacy.Article Investigate Nasal Colonize Staphylococcus Species Biofilm Produced(Journal of Clinical and Analytical Medicine, 2015) Demir, Cemil; İnanç, B.B.Aim: 127 S.aureus and 65 CoNS strains were isolated from patients noses’. To produce a biofilm ability was investigated using three different methods. Slime-positive and negative staphylococcies’ resistance were evaluated against different antibiotics. Material and Method: Swap samples puted 7% blood agar. Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) isolates biofilm produced ability were investigated using Congo Red Agar (CRA), microplates (MP) and Standard Tube (ST) methods. In addition to that, presence of antibiotic resistance of the staphylococcal isolates are determined agar disc diffusion method. Results: The rate of biofilm produc-ing Staphylococcus spp strains was found to be 72.4%, 67.7%, and 62.9%, respectively with CRA, MP, and ST tests. There was no significant relationship among the tests (p>0.05). In addition, antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus spp. against various antibiotics was also determined by the agar disk dif-fusion method. Resistance rates of biofilm positive (BP) Staphylococcus spp for penicilin G, ampicilin, amocycilin/clavulanic acid, tetracyclin, eritromycin, gentamycin, and enrofloxacin 71.7%, 69.7%, 6.2%, 20.7%, 21.4%, 1.4%, and 0.7%, respectively. Resistance rates of biofilm negative (BN) spp for 42.6%, 23.4%, 4.3%, 14.9%, 19.1%, 0.0%, 0.0% respectively. All Staphylococcus isolates were found to be susceptible to vancomycin and teicaplonin. Although BP strains antibiotic resistance rates were observed higher than BN strains. But resistance rates were not found statistically significant (p>0.05). Discus-sion: CRA is the reliablity and specifity method to determine Staphylococcus spp. biofilm produce ability. © 2015, Journal of Clinical and Analytical Medicine. This phthalocyanine was characterized using 1 H NMR, FTIR, UV - vis and mass spectra. 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, antidiabetic, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) cutting, biofilm inhibition, anti -microbial and antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) activities of newly synthesized bis(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyloxy) phthalocyaninato silicon (IV) molecule were studied. The best activities were 41.58 % at 100 mg/L for antioxidant and 41.66 % for antidiabetic at 400 mg/L concentration. The molecule degraded the biofilm matrix formed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus as 78.61 % and 89.26 %, at 50 mg/L concentration, respectively. It was observed that E. coli , which was used as a model microorganism, was inhibited at a level close to 100 % even at the lowest concentration of 50 mg/L. While double strand break was observed at 50 mg/L DNA cutting activity, it was determined that DNA was reduced to nucleotides at 100 and 200 mg/L. The Pc also displayed effective antimicrobial and aPDT abilities against pathogens. With the application of aPDT, the effectiveness of antimicrobial activity increased 2 to 4 times. These increase rates are very important. The main conclusion of the study was that the newly synthesized compound exhibited various effective biological activities such as effective antioxidant, antidiabetic, DNA cleavage, antimicrobial, aPDT, biofilm inhibition and microbial cell viability inhibition.Article Synthesis and characterization of novel magnetic nano-catalyst (Fe3O4@SiO2@EDDHA-Fe) and their hydrogen production activity(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2024) Umaz, AdilDue to irreparable crises for nature and people, replacing fossil fuel -based energy with green energy sources is a necessity for nature and humanity. Hydrogen is considered a clean energy transport due to its high energy density, environmental friendliness, high efficiency, and recyclable nature. This study generated hydrogen through NaBH 4 ethanolysis. In hydrogen production studies, there are very few studies with magnetic nano catalysts and very few studies with cheap transition metals. In order to contribute to the literature in this field, in this study, Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA-Fe was produced for the first time and used in hydrogen production studies. Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA-Fe synthesis was successfully carried out and hydrogen production was successfully implemented. The study also utilized FT-IR, XRD, VSM, BET, and SEM-EDX methods to characterize the structural, physical, and chemical properties of MNCs. The average particle diameter and magnetization value of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA-Fe were 12.81 nm and 30.6 emu/g, respectively. The catalysis experiment designed with 50 mg Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA-Fe and 93.75 mM NaBH 4 generated 840 mL H 2 /g NaBH 4 298 K and 947 mL H 2 /g NaBH 4 318 K in 5 -min duration, respectively. At room temperature, the hydrogen generation rate (HGR) and activation energy (Ea) of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA-Fe reaction were calculated as 1040 mL H 2 /gcat & sdot; min and 5.39 kJ/mol, respectively. After the sixth cycle, the reusability test of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA-Fe reaction still retained approximately 87% of the initial hydrogen production volume. The study concluded that Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 @EDDHA- Fe is a promising catalyst in hydrogen production from NaBH 4 ethanolysis, as it is affordable and easy to prepare compared to other expensive catalysts.Article The effect of the mathematics bag early education program(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2024) Ergel, Abdülbaki; Aydogan, YaseminIn this study, the effect of the Mathematics Bag Early Education Program (MAcEP) on the mathematics skills (number/counting, geometry, measurement) of 57-69-month-old preschool children was investigated. Mann Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Friedman Test and content analysis were used to analyze the data. At the end of the study, it was determined that MACEP effectively improved the mathematics skills (number/counting, geometry, measurement) of 57-69-month-old children in the experimental group and the retention continued after the experimental period.Article Trace Metal Determination in the Medicinal Plant Hyoscyamus (Solanaceae) by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry(Perkin - Elmer Corp., 2014) Keskin, C.; Kisin, E.; Yavuz, M.The concentrations of Cd, Ni, Cu, Pb, Cr, Fe, B, and A1 were determined in four different medicinal plants of the Hyoscyamus species: Hyoscyamus reticulums L, Hyoscyamus leptocalyx STAPF, Hyoscyamus aureus L, and Hyoscyamus albus L by ICP-OES. By considering the sensitivity of ICP-OES with respect to the trace level determination of Cd, Ni, Cu, Pb, Cr, Fe, B, and Al in the studied plant samples and the limitations of sample amount possible in a microwave digestion procedure, the ashing method was applied before analysis and proved the quantitative measurements of the elements. The accuracy of the method was verified by comparison to the certified reference sample NCSZC 73014 Tea Leaves. The RSD values were between 0.14-10.4%, while the error values were in the 90-107% range. The results show that with the proposed method higher concentrations of Ni, Cr, Pb, Fe, and B were determined in H. aureus. Interestingly, the concentration of Cu in H. reticulatus was approximately 48.5 times higher than the mean Cu values of the other three Hyoscyamus species, while the Pb concentration levels in H. aureus were 17.8 times higher than in the H. reticulatus L, H. leptocalyx STAPF, and H. albus L species.
