Article Altın nanomalzeme sentezi ve karekterizasyonu(2019) Baran, Mehmet Fırat; Saydut, AbdurrahmanNanobiyoteknoloji, nanobilim ve teknolojide çarpıcı ve en hızlı gelişen alanlardan biridir. Altın nanopartikülleri (AuNP'ler), yeşil sentez ile herhangi bir yüzey aktif madde, stabilizatör ve kimyasal madde kullanılmadanbıttım(Pistacia terebinthus) yaprak özütü kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen AuNP’lerin karekterizasyonu UV-vis, SEM-EDX, XRD, FTIR ve TGA-DTA ile yapıldı. SEM-EDX, analizi incelendiğinde sentezlenen nanomalzemelerin kristal boyutunun 100 nm’nin altında olduğu ve kristal yapısının küresel olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. UV-vis, analizi verileri gösterdiki oda koşullarında farklı zaman aralıklarında yapılan ölçümler sonucunda renk değişimi ile maksimum dalga boyunun 335 nm’de karesteristik pik verdiği görüldü. XRD analizi verilerinden kristal yapılarının boyutu 14.37 nm büyüklükte olduğu hesaplandı. (S. frigida Boiss., S. candidissima subsp. candidissima Vahl., S. virgata Jacq., S. verticillata L. var. verticillata and S. russellii Benth.) taxa grown in Turkey. The flavonoid and phenolic acid contents were measured by using HPLC whilst the antioxidant capacities were determined by using different methods. In addition, agar well diffusion method was used to determine the antimicrobial activities of Salvia species in this study. It was found that S. frigida, S. verticillata var. verticillata and S. russellii have the highest catechin contents and S. frigida and S. verticillata var. verticillata have high rosmarinic acid while S. frigida, S. candidissima subsp. candidissima and S. verticillata var. verticillata have high vanilic acid. Also, it was determined that S. frigida and S. verticillata var. verticillata have high DPPH radical scavenging activities in 150 and 250 µL while S. frigida and S. verticillata var. verticillata have highest ABTS radical scavenging activity in all concentrations apart from 25 µL for S. frigida. Furthermore, S. frigida and S. verticillata var. verticillata have high total phenolic contents. On the other hand, Salvia species have similar lipid peroxidation inhibitions. However, the metal chelating activities of Salvia species are different. And also, it was demonstrated that Salvia taxa have antimicrobial activity.Article Citation - Scopus: 16Biosorption Studies of Mushrooms for Two Typical Dyes(Journal of the Turkish Chemical Society, Section A: Chemistry, 2020) Yıldırım, Ayfer; Acay, HilalThis study investigated the adsorption behaviour of two cationic dyes, methylene blue (MB) and malachite green (MG) onto Pleurotus ostreatus, Armillaria tabescens, and Morchella conica mushrooms. The effects of contact time, initial dye concentration, and solution pH (3-11) were also determined. The adsorption on all mushrooms attained equilibrium within 120 min for both MB and MG. To evaluate the experimental kinetics data, the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion kinetics equations were utilised. The pseudo-first-order kinetic model demonstrated a good fit with all adsorption kinetics. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were used to analyse the mechanism of the adsorption isotherm. The adsorption equilibrium isotherm was in a good agreement with the Freundlich model. Thermodynamic parameters such as ΔH enthalpy variation, ΔS entropy variation, and ΔG free Gibbs energy variation were calculated at 303-323 K. Against Cyclophosphamide Related Cardiotoxicity in Rats(Marmara Univ, 2018) Cetik Yildiz, Songul; Keskin, Cumali; Sahinturk, Varol; Ayhanci, AdnanCyclophosphamide (CYP) is commonly used as anticancer agent but its usage is limited by cardiotoxic side effects such as dose-dependent cardiac damage, morphologically defined necrosis and bleeding. Hypericum triquetrifolium Turra. (HT) shows anti-oxidative and anticarciogenic properties with its rich phenolic contents. The current study was designed to investigate the possible protective effect of HT on CYP-induced cardiotoxicity. Albino rats were randomly divided into 9 groups, each included 7 animals. Serum creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), malondialdehyde (MDA), aspartate transaminase (AST), glutathione (GSH), total antioxidant (TAC) and total oxidant capacity (TOC) levels were investigated. Furthermore, the cardiac tissue samples were investigated histopatologically. While the levels of serum CK-MB, MDA, AST and TOC were high, the levels of serum GSH and TAC levels were low in the CYP groups. It was also observed that CYP-induced cardiotoxicity was dose dependent. In the treatment with CYP plus HT doses there was observed an essential decrease in the CYP cardiotoxicity; decreased cell damage and oxidative stress parameters and also increased GSH and TAC levels. Based on our findings, it can be proposed that HT seed methanol extract was a strong candidate in preventing the CYP-induced cardiotoxicity.Article Comparison Of Different Life Stages Of Total, Phospholipid And Triacylglycerol Fatty Acids Of Lucilia Sericata(ABADER (Adıyaman Bilimsel Arastırmalar Dernegi), 2021) Kizmaz, V.Lucilia sericata, which belongs to the Calliphoridae family (Diptera), is used as a debridement tool in open necrotic wounds that do not respond to conventional treatments. Knowing the total, phospholipid (PL), and triacylglycerol (TAG) fatty acid content of L. sericata fly, which is important for health, in its different stages is important both in terms of taxonomy and physiology. After L. sericata samples used in the study were obtained commercially, they were bred under laboratory conditions and then the fatty acids in different stages were analyzed by gas chromatography. Sixteen fatty acids are determined as a result of the analysis. When individual fatty acids are considered, Palmitic acid (16:0), Palmitoleic Acid (16:1n-7), oleic acid (18:1n-9) and Linoleic Acid (18:2n-6) were found to be major ones, while the others are detected in trace amounts. It is determined that, out of total, PL and TAG, saturated fatty acids (SFA) are found at a high percentage in the eggs, monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) are the highest in the larvae, and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are the highest in fly and pupa. Furthermore, out of total, PL and TAG, ∑PUFA is at a low percentage in the egg and the larval stages. Different results are found at different stages in this study. Therefore, knowing the plant contents is important for human health. In this study, metal contents of nineteen species belonging to four different families were determined. Different species belonging to the same genus belonging to these families and metal contents of different parts of the same sample were compared with each other. The metal contents of different species of the same genus have been determined that be different from each other. The metal contents of different parts of the same species were determined that be different from each other. In addition, the Cd and Pb metal content results of the species were compared with the maximum allowable concentration values in raw plant material of the World Health Organization's (WHO). Cd metal content in all species was found to be higher than the value determined by the WHO. In this context, the plants pose a danger to human health when they are eaten by the public, consumed as herbal tea or used as medicinal plants especially the toxic metals in their composition. For this reason, determining the macro, micro and toxic element content in the plants is important for health. In this study; the metal contents of root and aerial parts of nine different Salvia species were determined and the chemometric evaluation of the obtained results was made. In the principal component analysis (PCA) made with 20 elements of Salvia species, it was determined that the first two principal components explained 62.60% of the variance and the first six principal components explained 92.70%. When PCA and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) results are evaluated; the parts of Salvia species root and aerial parts were determined that were not clearly separated and there was no regional grouping. In addition, Salvia species prepared as herbal tea was left to different simulated body fluid medium conditions, and the changes in metal contents were examined. It was determined that were taken up Cr, Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn metals in the simulated saliva fluid (SSF), Ni, Mn metals in the simulated gastric fluid (SGF), and Na, K metals in the simulated intestinal fluid (SIF). It was determined that Fe metal in almost all Salvia species was not taken from three simulated body fluid mediums. Thus, elements determined which were taken up in body fluid mediums.Article Determination of Chemical and Mineral Compositions of Promising Almond (Prunus amygdalus L.) Genotypes from Beyazsu (Mardin) Region(2017) Şimşek, Mikdat; Kızmaz, VeysiMevcut çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'nin Beyazsu (Mardin) yöresinde yetişen üstün badem genotiplerinin tohumlarındaki önemli kimyasal ve minerallerin kompozisyonlarını belirlemektir. Araştırmada incelenen badem genotiplerinin ham yağ, ham protein, toplam şeker, kül ve nem içerikleri sırasıyla %48.93 ile 55.96, %20.81 ile 25.99, %2.91 ile 4.06, %3.12 ile 4.69 ve % 2.28 ile 3.70 arasında değişmiştir. Ayrıca, tüm genotiplerde temel mineral olarak belirlenen potasyum içeriği 646.27 ile 925.13 mg 100g-1, bir sonraki en bol mineral olan fosfor içeriği 562.53 ile 701.93 mg 100g-1 arasında değişmiştir. Bunları magnezyum ve kalsiyum içerikleri takip ederek sırasıyla 217.13 ile 367.27 mg 100g-1 ve 190.97 ile 317.13 mg 100g-1 arasında değişmiştir. Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarına gore, badem genotiplerinin tohumlarının yenilebildikleri ve bazı endüstriyel uygulamalar için kullanılan değerli kimyasal ve minerallerin potansiyel kaynağı olduğu sonucuna varılabilir.Moving Image Determination of Hair and Serum Metal Levels in Petrol Station Workers(2019) Kömüroğlu, Ahmet Ufuk; Alacabey, İhsan; Atasoy, Nurhayat; Üçler, RıfkıThe aim of this study is to determine some metals in hair and serum samples of petrol station workers. A total of 50 petrol station workers (exposure group) and 50 office workers (control group) were included in the study. Li, Ni, V, Tl, Ti and Sr levels in hair samples and Sr, Ti and V levels in serum samples were measured using the ICP-OES instrument. Li, Ni, V, Tl, Ti and Sr levels in hair samples were found to be significantly higher in the exposure group than in the control group. Ti level in serum samples was found to be significantly higher in the exposure group than in the control group. However, Sr and V levels in serum samples did not differ significantly between the two groups. These results show that petrol station workers are exposed to these toxic metals. For this reason, it may be recommended that petrol station workers should undergo regular biomonitoring and healthcare screening.Article The effect of body mass index and anxiety status on blood pressure in patients admitted to family medicine outpatient clinic(Aile Hekimliği ve Palyatif Bakım, 2022) Ayan, Orhan; Yilmaz, Ahmet; Dündar, Ahmet; Demir Pervane, Vasfiye; Kuyumcu, MahirIntroduction: Hypertension is a global public health problem that is the leading cause of preventable death in the world and a disease which can cause many morbidities and mortality if not controlled or treated effectively. In many studies, it has been determined that anxiety and body mass index(BMI) are among the factors affecting hypertension. However, different results have been obtained in many studies in terms of the relationship between anxiety and hypertension. This study was carried out with the aim to evaluate the effect of body mass index and anxiety on blood pressure and the factors affecting blood pressure in patients who applied to outpatient clinic of family medicine at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine. Methods: 403 patients aged between 18- 65 years, who applied to outpatient clinic of family medicine at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine between 01.04.2018 and 01.07.2018, were included in this cross-sectional study. The population of the study was the province where the study was carried out, and the sample size was calculated with a power of 80%. The patients' body mass index and anxiety scores from Beck anxiety scale were calculated and measurements of arterial blood pressure were performed. The relationship between BMI, Beck anxiety scores and blood pressure of patients were investigated. Results: Of the participants, 50.1% were male, 49.9% were female and the average age was 34.11 in years. Of the patients, the mean BMI as 25.52 kg/m², the mean anxiety score as 7.40 and the arterial blood pressures as 117.80/75.54 mmHg were measured. It was found that arterial blood pressure raised significantly as the BMI group increased. While the relationship between the severity of anxiety and systolic blood pressure was significant, its relationship with diastolic blood pressure was not significant. There was a positive correlation between BMI, anxiety score and systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Conclusions: According to the results of this study, it was found that the increase in BMI and Beck anxiety scores may be related with increase in arterial blood pressure. This result showed that common health problems in primary care such as anxiety, obesity and hypertension may be associated with each other, and it can be effectively fought against hypertension and its complications with the perspective of family medicine and biopsychosocial approach.Article Effect of Lambda-cyhalothrin on the Gill Phospholipid (PL) Subclass of Oreochromis niloticus(ABADER (Adıyaman Bilimsel Arastırmalar Dernegi), 2023) Yolcu, Murat; Satar, Elif İpek; Başhan, Mehmet; Kızmaz, VeysiFatty acids have a crucial role in providing energy and performing essential functions in living organisms. Moreover, these substances exhibit the most significant alterations in their structure based on ecotoxicological parameters when viewed from a biochemical perspective. These bioactive chemicals are present in the cellular architecture. The study of these fatty acids, crucial for maintaining the integrity and permeability of cell membranes, holds great significance for all living organisms. Consequently, doing fatty acid analysis specifically at the phospholipid level holds significant importance. The impact of lambda cyhalothrin on the fatty acid content of several phospholipid subclasses (phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylinositol (PI), and phosphatidylserine (PS) in the gill tissue of O. niloticus (Perciformes: Cichlidae) was assessed using gas chromatography. The alterations in the fatty acid composition was analyzed 21 days after exposure. Following the complete extraction of lipids from gill tissue, the tissue was subsequently separated into different subclasses of phospholipids using thin layer chromatography. The samples were subjected to methylation and then evaluated using Gas Chromatography to determine the percentage of the fatty acid. After doing the analysis, a grand total of 16 fatty acids were identified. The research revealed that the primary fatty acids were 16:0 and 18:0 of saturated fatty acids, monounsaturated 18:1n-9, and polyunsaturated 18:2n-6, 20:4n-6, and 22:6n-6. Upon analyzing the distribution of fatty acids, it was observed that PC, PE, and PI included 16:0, PE contained 18:1, PE and PS contained C18:2n-6 and 20:4n-6, and significant alterations in C22:6n-3 were detected in PE. Our investigation revealed that the n-3/n-6 ratio of fish in the PE subclass was the lowest when compared to PC, PI, and PS.Article Effects of Massage Therapy on Clinical Symptoms of Older People(Journal of education and research in nursing (Online), 2022) Utli, HediyeNurses can improve outcomes of patient care by integrating complementary and alternative therapies with traditional medical practices. Among the non-pharmacological methods that can be used in geriatrics and gerontology are massage, aromatherapy, relaxation, meditation, therapeutic touch, biofeedback (neurotherapy), guided affective imagery (creative psychotherapy), reflexology, acupressure, and naturopathy. Massage therapy attracts the attention of healthcare professionals, patients, and families because it improves many symptoms, it has no side effects, it is easy to learn and apply, and is safe, effective, and economical. Massage therapy is used in geriatric patients for various purposes. For instance, it is effective in the management of pain, agitation, stress, anxiety, worry, and depression, it relieves constipation and improves the range of motion of the joints. Massage therapy together with pharmacological treatments reduces many symptoms of neurological diseases and neurological disease-associated risks, and it has a safe, supportive and positive effect. It is thought that this review, based on the effects of massage therapy, can be a guide especially for nurses working with elderly patients in the neurology clinic.Article Evaluation of the Serological, Biochemical and Hemogram Parameters of Patients Prediagnosed with Hydatid Cyst(2021) Demir, Cemil; Cetik Yildiz, SongulObjective: Hydatid cyst or echinococcosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by the larval stages of Echinococcus granulosus, which is common in our country. It is necessary to use radiological and serological methods as diagnosing this disease based on clinical symptoms is very difficult. In this retrospective study, it was aimed to determine the condition in our region by retrospectively analyzing the hemogram, biochemistry, radiological and pathological findings and the epidemiological data of the patients prediagnosed with hydatid cyst. Materials and Methods: A total of 412 patients, 279 female and 133 male, who applied to various clinics of the Mardin State Hospital with hydatid cyst prediagnosis. 52 patients were diagnosed with hydatid cyst based on ultrasonography, computerized tomography and radiological findings, and liver involvement was detected in all 64 patients, 12 of which were pathologically verified. Results: 38 (59.3%) of 64 patients included in the study were female, 26 (40.6%) were male and their ages ranged from 0-77. The most common symptoms were severe abdominal pain, distention, chest pain, shortness of breath, 415 cough, fever, nausea and vomiting. 83.4% of the patients applied to the general surgery, 5.5% applied to the pediatric surgery and 10.1% applied to other clinics. Conclusion: The parameter with the highest increase was GGT, followed by ALT, AST and ALP. Elevated RDW (29%) was the most common finding in the hemogram parameters, followed by decreased MCV, hematocrit and hemoglobin.Article Citation - WoS: 3Fast and Economical Biosorption of Lead (II) Heavy Metal in Aqueous Solutions by Bacillus licheniformis sp.(Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam Üniversitesi, 2022) Baran, Mehmet Fırat; Düz, Zahir; Baran, Ayşe; Keskin, CumaliLead is used in many areas of industry. Considering the prevalence of use, there is an intense lead and heavy metal content in the wastes resulting from these applications, and the toxic pollution caused by these metals affects the nearest water source directly or indirectly. Lead poses a serious threat to all life forms in the ecosystem, even at low concentrations in water. Lead recovery with environmentally friendly methods is both easier and more economical. Bacillus licheniformis sp. type was used as a biosorbent in the study. Nearly 98.4% of lead was removed by using the batch biosorption method, at 25 oC, pH 5.5, with an adsorption capacity of 42.92 in 120 minutes. from the water. The properties of the biosorbent, such as its morphological appearance, were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Besides, the functional groups affecting biosorption in the surface structure were investigated by fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR)while its resistance to heat treatment was measured by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA-DTA). The lead(II) element content in the aqueous solution was also determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES).Article Fe3O4/AC@SiO2@EDTA Manyetik Nano-Adsorbentin Sentezlenmesi ve Toluenin Gaz Adsorpsiyonunda Kullanılması(Bitlis Eren Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi, 2020) Ece, Mehmet ŞakirBu çevreci çalışma, daha derin bir bakış açısı kazandırmakla mevcut çesitli toluen adsorbsiyonu teknolojijisine katkı sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, hayati risk oluşturan toluenin adsorpsiyonu için nano-teknolojiden faydalanmıştır. Etilendiamin tetraasetik asit (EDTA) daha önce direkt Fe3O4’e bağlanmış olsa da bu çalışma da Fe3O4, önce aktif karbonla, sonra SiO2 ile daha sonra da EDTA ile kaplanmış, böylelikle toluen adorbsiyonu için sentezi çok basit ve adsorbsiyon kapasitesi pekiyi, literatürde rastlanmayan nano manyetik adsorbent sentezlenmiş, sentezlenen bu nano manyetik adsorbent toluen adsorbsiyonunda başarılı ve verimli bir şekilde uygulanmıştır. Toluenin gaz adsorpsiyonunda kullanılan manyetik nano-adsorbent, birlikte çökeltme ve sol-gel yöntemiyle sentezlendi. Sentezlenen manyetik nano-adsorbentin karakterizasyonu ise FTIR ve TGA/DTA analizleri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Adsorpsiyon işleminde önemli bir rol oynayan adsorpsiyon süresi, girişteki toluen konsantrasyonu ve adsorpsiyon sıcaklığı gibi adsorpsiyon koşulları, Merkezi Kompozit Tasarım (MKT) yaklaşımı temelli Yanıt Yüzey Yöntemi (YYY) kullanılarak optimize edilmiştir. Deneysel tasarımda, MKT ve YYY, adsorpsiyon koşulları ile adsorpsiyon kapasitesi arasındaki ilişkiyi daha iyi anlamak için bir yaklaşım geliştirmek üzere başarıyla uygulanmıştır. MKT ve YYY kullanılarak bulunan 53.36 dk adsorpsiyon süresi, 18.02 ppm başlangıç konsantrasyonu ve 26.21°C adsorpsiyon sıcaklığı gibi optimum adsorpsiyon koşulları altında, toluen için maksimum adsorpsiyon kapasitesi 484.16 mg/g olarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar, manyetik Fe3O4/AC@SiO2@EDTA nanopartiküllerinin, toluenin gaz adsorpsiyonunda uygulanabileceğini göstermiştir.Article Citation - Scopus: 3Fe3O4@SA MNCs Synthesis, Characterization, and First-time Use in Hydrogen Production by NaBH4 Hydrolysis(Turkish Chemical Society, 2024) Umaz, AdilHydrogen is a clean energy carrier that will reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to reducing the harmful effects on the environment resulting from using fossil fuels. Hydrogen is produced by the hydrolysis of sodium borohydride (NaBH4), one of the chemical hydrides, using a catalyst. In this study, Fe3O4@Salicylic acid magnetic nano-catalyst (Fe3O4@SA MNCs) was synthesized using the co-precipitation technique. The structural, physical, and chemical properties of the produced Fe3O4@SA MNCs were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, VSM, SEM, and SEM-EDX methods. At room temperature, the effect on hydrogen production performance was examined in the amounts of Fe3O4@SA MNCs (10, 25, 50, 75, and 100 mg), NaOH (0, 10, 20, and 25 mg), and NaBH4 (25, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg). The highest hydrogen generation rates (HGR) were obtained using 10 mg Fe3O4@SA MNCs, 150 mg NaBH4, and 0 mg NaOH at room temperature. The obtained HGR value was calculated as 400 mL gcat-1.min-1. Fe3O4@SA MNCs were used for hydrogen production for the first time in this study. This study showed that Fe3O4@SA MNCs exhibit catalytic properties and are a promising, efficient catalyst in hydrogen production from NaBH4.Article Fıstık (Pistacia vera L.) Yaprağından Gümüş Nanopartikül (AgNP)’lerin Sentezi, Karakterizasyonu ve Antimikrobiyal Aktivitesinin İncelenmesi(2019) Eren, abdullah; BARAN, Mehmet FıratBu çalışmanın amacı, fıstık (Pistacia vera L.) bitki ekstraktı kullanılarak, yeşil sentez yöntemi ile gümüş nanopartikül (AgNP)’lerini sentezlemektir. Yeşil sentez; çevre dostu ve maliyet açısından ucuz olması, kimyasal ve fiziksel yöntemlerden daha çok tercih edilen nanopartiküllerin kolay bir şekilde elde edilmesi ile bilinen biyolojik bir yöntemdir. Reaksiyon sonucunda elde edilen AgNP’ler, UV görünür spektrofotometre (UV-vis), fourier-dönüştürülmüş kızılötesi spektroskopisi (FTIR), X-Işını kırınımı (XRD), termogravimetrik ve diferansiyel termal analizi (TGA-DTA), taramalı elektron mikroskobu ve enerji yayılımlı X-ışını cihazı (SEM-EDX) kullanılarak karakterize edilmiştir. Gümüş nanopartiküllerin 460.67 nm’de maksimum absorbansa sahip olduğu görülmüştür. AgNP’lerin indirgenmesinde rol olan fitokimyasalları analiz etmek için FTIR analizi yapılmıştır. Debye-Scherrer’s denkleminden yararlanarak sentezlenen nanoparçacıkların kristal boyutunun 16.7 nm olduğu hesaplanmıştır. AgNP’lerin küresel görünümde olduğu transmisyon elektron mikroskobu ile tespit edilmiştir. Sentezlenen AgNP’lerin antimikrobiyal etkisi gram pozitif ve gram negatif bakterileri ve fungus (maya) üzerinde minimum inhibitör konsantrasyonu (MIC) metodu ile test edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, sentezlenen gümüş nanopartiküllerin antimikrobiyal etki gösterdiği belirlenmiştir.Article Giardia intestinalis Genotiplerinin, Real-Time PCR Yöntemi ile Dışkı Örneklerinden Belirlenmesi(Türk Mikrobiyoloji Cemiyeti Dergisi, 2018) Demirci, Mehmet; Yiğin, Akın; Demir, Cemil; Acel, Düriye PelinAmaç: Giardia intestinalis flagellalı, Giardiyaz’a neden olan bir protozoondur ve dünya çapında önemli bir sorundur. Moleküler yöntemlerle sekiz farklı genotipi saptanan G. intestinalis’de, A ve B genotipinin, insan ve memelilerde hastalıklarla ilişkili olduğu ve farklı genotiplerin, farklı klinik tablolar meydana getirebildiği bildirilmektedir. Biz de bu bilgiler ışığında, giardiyaz tanısı almış ve G. intestinalis pozitif saptanan dışkı örneklerinde bulunan G. intestinalis genotiplerinin dağılımını real-time PCR yöntemi ile belirlemeyi ve moleküler epidemiyolojik bir veri sunmayı amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntem: Ocak 2016-Ocak 2018 tarihleri arasında, hem nativ hem de lugol ile mikroskobik olarak incelenen dışkı örnekleri içinde G. intestinalis kist ve/veya trofozoit’i pozitif bulunan 50 G. intestinalis pozitif hastanın dışkı numuneleri çalışmaya dâhil edildi. Dışkı örneklerinden DNA izolasyonu gerçekleştirildikten sonra genotip A ve genotip B için spesifik primerler kullanılarak real-time PCR ile analiz edildi. Bulgular: Çalışmamıza dâhil edilen 50 giardiyaz tanılı hastanın dışkı örneklerinde, 28’inde (%56) A genotipi saptanırken, 17’sinde (%34) B genotipi, 5’inde (%10) ise hem A, hem de B genotipi bulundu. Cinsiyete göre saptanan genotipler incelendiğinde, erkeklerde ve kadınlarda sırasıyla 25 (%50) ve 25 (%50) olarak bulundu. Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, çalışmamız ile ülkemizde giardiyaza neden olan ama ayrımı yalnızca moleküler yöntemlerle ortaya konabilen G. intestinalis genotipleri incelenerek, G. intestinalis’in A genotipinin, B genotipine oranla biraz daha fazla olduğu belirlendi. Ülkemizde G. intestinalis’in moleküler epidemiyolojisine yönelik veriler sınırlıdır. Biz atık durumunda ki zeytin yapraklarından elde ettiğimiz özüt ile gümüş nano partikülleri (AgNP’leri) basit, ucuz ve çevre dostu bir yöntemle sentezledik. Bu partiküllerin Ultraviyole ve Görünür Işık Absorpsiyon Spektroskopi (UVVis.), Fourıer Dönüşümlü Kızılötesi Spektroskopisi (FTIR), X-Işınları Kırınım Cihazı (XRD), Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu- Enerji Yayılımlı X-ışını (SEM-EDX) ve Termo Gravimetrik (TGA-DTA) analizleri kullanılarak karakterizasyon işlemi yapılmıştır. Antibiyotik dirençliliği günümüz dünyasının ciddi sorunlarından biri bu sebeple elde edilen partiküllerin patojen gram pozitif Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, gram negatif Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 suşları ve Candida albicans mayası üzerinde etkili bir anti-mikrobiyal aktivite gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Attempts to overcome anemia in IBD would help not only general well being of the patients but also minimize disease consequences. In this experimental study, the possible hematoprotective effects of lycopene and NG–nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) on colitis induced by TNBS were analyzed. 112 rats were assigned to 16 groups; control group, intrarectal 120 mg/kg TNBS group, intraperitoneal 40 mg/kg L-NAME group, 1 mg/kg olive oil group, 5 and 10 mg/kg lycopene groups. Each experimental group was divided into 3 subgroups according to duration of treatment. On the very first day of treatment number of erythrocytes decreased in all groups except TNBS treated group whereas leukocyte numbers increased in all groups except TNBS treated group pointing out an inflammation. The number of platelets decreased in all study groups with the exception of TNBS group. On the second day, while erythrocyte and platelet numbers increased in all but not in TNBS group, leukocytes decreased in all the groups. On the third day, erythrocyte and platelet numbers increased in all groups except for the 10 mg/kg lycopene group. While the number of leukocytes decreased in the 10 mg/kg lycopene group, it remained the same in the other groups as those observed on the second day. These results show that lycopene could have effects on hemopoiesis as well as in prevention of anemia in IBD.
