Description
Bitki Koruma Bölümümüzün asıl hedefi; bilimsel değerleri prensip edinen, bilim ve teknolojiden yararlanarak, ülke tarım sektöründe bitkisel yetiştiricilikte sorun olan hastalık etmenleri, yabancı otlar ve zararlıların teşhisi, zarar şekli ve mücadele yöntemleri konularında güncel gelişmeleri mühendislik bakış açısıyla çözebilen, bilgi üretip bunu paylaşan ve mesleki etik kurallarına saygılı mühendis ve araştırmacılar yetiştirmeyi, bilimsel araştırma, eğitim ve hizmet alanlarındaki birikimini ve üretimini toplumun yararına sunmayı başlıca görev edinmektir.
Bitki Koruma Bölümü Programı, bölgenin ve ülkemizin tarımsal ürün anlamında kendine yeter ve dış piyasada rekabet edebilecek güce sahip olmak için çözümler üretecek bir Tarımsal Ar-Ge Merkezi olarak lisans öğrencilerimize konularında uzman öğretim üyelerimiz ile gerçekleştirilen araştırmalar ve öğrenci odaklı eğitim faaliyetleriyle Türkiye’de öncü bitki koruma bölümleri arasında yer almak; alanında bölgesel, ulusal ve evrensel gereksinimleri karşılamak, sürdürülebilir ve nitelikli araştırmalar ile bilime, teknolojiye ve toplum yararına katkı sağlamak; temel değerlerine bağlı, mesleki, kültürel ve sosyal yönden gelişime açık bitki koruma alanında uzmanlaşmış ziraat mühendisleri yetiştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır.
Bitki Koruma Bölümü Programı, Entomoloji ve Fitopatoloji Ana Bilim Dallarını içermektedir. Her iki Ana Bilim Dalımızın da amacı, öğrencilerimize bitkisel üretimi tehdit eden hastalık ve zararlılar hakkında kapsamlı bilgi vermek ve onları araştırmaya yöneltmektir. Bölümümüz, hızla gelişmekte olan bu bilim dallarında güncel gelişmeleri öğrencilere aktarmak için yeni öğretim teknikleri uygulamakta ve kadrosunu genişleterek yeni alanlarda araştırmalar yürütecek ve dersler verecek bilimsel kalitesi yüksek uzmanlar kazandırmayı hedeflemektedir.
Entomoloji Ana Bilim Dalı bünyesinde Akaroloji, Entomoloji ve Nematoloji Bilim Dalları; Fitopatoloji Ana Bilim Dalı bünyesinde ise Bakteriyoloji, Mikoloji, Viroloji ve Herboloji Bilim Dalları yer almakta ve bu konularda birçok ders, konunun uzmanları tarafından en güncel gelişmeler takip edilerek verilmektedir. Her iki ana bilim dalında da verilen eğitim, klasik ders anlatımlarını, sınıf içi tartışmaları, öğrenci sunumlarını, laboratuvar ve arazi uygulamalarını ve seminerleri içermektedir. Öğrencilerin bilimsel problem çözme tekniklerini öğrenmeleri, okudukları araştırma makalelerini anlamaları ve analiz edebilmeleri beklenmektedir.
Sonuç olarak; zengin tarım potansiyeline sahip bir şehir olarak ön plana çıkan Mardin ili hem sahip olduğu arazi varlıkları hem de ilde tarıma dayalı sanayinin gelişmiş olması nedeniyle tarımsal faaliyetler açısından önemli konumdadır. Bu bağlamda, Bitki koruma bölümümüze sunulan araştırma olanakları ile onların başarılı bir kariyere adım atabilmeleri için gerekli temel bilgi ve pratik becerileri vermekte; mezuniyet sonrasında temel ve uygulamalı bilimlerde araştırmacı olabilmek, Tarım Bakanlığında mühendis olmak ya da özel tarım ve ilaç firmalarında görev alabilmek için her türlü donanımı kazanmaları hedeflenmektedir.
The main goal of our Plant Protection Department is; Engineers and engineers who adopt scientific values as a principle, benefit from science and technology, can solve the current developments from an engineering perspective on the disease factors, weeds and pests that are problematic in plant cultivation in the country's agricultural sector, diagnosis, damage patterns and combat methods, produce and share knowledge and respect professional ethics. Its main duty is to train researchers and to present its knowledge and production in the fields of scientific research, education and service for the benefit of the society. As an Agricultural R&D Center that will produce solutions for the region and our country to be self-sufficient in terms of agricultural products and to have the power to compete in the foreign market, the Department of Plant Protection is among the leading Plant Protection departments of our country with the research carried out by our expert faculty members and student-oriented educational activities. By meeting regional, national and universal needs in the field and contributing to science, technology and social benefit with sustainable and qualified research; It aims to train agricultural engineers specialized in plant protection who are committed to their core values and open to professional, cultural and social development. The department includes the Departments of Entomology and Phytopathology. The aim of both our departments is to provide our students with comprehensive information about diseases and pests that threaten plant production and to direct them to research. Our department applies new teaching techniques to convey current developments in these rapidly developing branches of science to students, and aims to expand its staff to provide experts with high scientific quality who will conduct research and give lectures in new fields. Acarology, Entomology and Nematology Branches within the Department of Entomology; Within the Department of Phytopathology, there are Bacteriology, Mycology, Virology and Herbology Branches, and many courses on these subjects are given by experts in the field, following the latest developments. The education provided in both departments includes classical lectures, in-class discussions, student presentations, laboratory and field applications and seminars. Students are expected to learn scientific problem-solving techniques and be able to understand and analyze the research articles they read. In conclusion; Mardin province, which stands out as a city with rich agricultural potential, is in an important position in terms of agricultural activities due to both its land assets and the developed agriculture-based industry in the province. In this context, the research opportunities offered to our Plant Protection Department provide the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary for them to step into a successful career; After graduation, it is aimed for them to gain all kinds of equipment to become researchers in basic and applied, Sciences, to become engineers at the Ministry of Agriculture or to work in private agricultural and pharmaceutical companies.
