Müzikoloji, müzikle ilgili her türlü bilgi alanını araştıran bir bilim dalıdır. Müzik Teorisi, Müzik Tarihi, İcra ve Bestecilik gibi müzikal yapılar kadar, kültür-müzik ilişkisini araştıran disiplinlerarası bir daldır. Tarih, antropoloji, felsefe, psikoloji, matematik, fizik gibi farklı bilim dallarıyla temas halinde olan müzikoloji çalışmaları, alan araştırmaları sonucu elde edilen verilerin bilimsel metotlar ışığında değerlendirilmesine dayanır. Müzikoloji ; çalışma alanlarının çeşitliliği ve geniş kapsamı nedeniyle tarihsel müzikoloji, sistematik müzikoloji, folklor, etnomüzikoloji ve popüler müzik gibi bir çok farklı alt başlık altında çalışabilir. Mardin Artuklu Devlet Konservatuvarı Müzikoloji Bölümünde yürütülen Program, müziği, bilimsel yöntemler ışığında analiz edebilmek için gereken teorik ve pratik bilginin sistemli bir şekilde öğrencilere aktarılmasını hedeflemektedir. Müzikoloji bölümü; Başta Mardin ve çevresi olmak üzere yeryüzünde farklı coğrafyalardaki kültürel miras ürünlerinin derlenmesi, toplanması, korunması ve aktarılmasına yardımcı olacak araştırılmaların sürdürülebilmesi adına kapsamlı bir eğitim programı sunmaktadır.
Musicology is a branch of science that investigates all areas of knowledge related to music. It is an interdisciplinary branch that investigates the relationship between culture and music as well as musical structures such as Music Theory, Music History, Performance and Composition. Musicology studies, which are in contact with different disciplines such as history, anthropology, philosophy, psychology, mathematics, physics, are based on the evaluation of the data obtained as a result of field research in the light of scientific methods. Due to the diversity and wide scope of its fields of study, musicology can be studied under many different sub-headings such as historical musicology, systematic musicology, folklore, ethnomusicology, and popular music. The programme carried out in the Department of Musicology at Mardin Artuklu State Conservatory aims to systematically transfer the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the analysis of music in the light of scientific methods to students. The Department of Musicology offers a comprehensive education programme in order to continue the research that will help the compilation, collection, preservation and transfer of cultural heritage products in different geographies of the world, especially in Mardin and its surroundings.
