Abstract

Many women suffer from menstrual symptoms during their reproductive years. The causes of menstrual symptoms have not yet been fully explained. Therefore, there is no clear medical treatment for these symptoms. Although menstrual symptoms are not a life-threatening gynecological condition, it is clear that it creates physical, psychological and social problems for women. Regular exercise is offered as an alternative to its use during the prevention and treatment of these symptoms, although the results have not been clearly demonstrated. This research was carried out to investigate the effect of regular exercise on menstruation symptoms. The study is cross-sectional in nature. The study group consists of 292 students from Mardin Artuklu University School of Physical Education and Sports. In the study, the personal information form was collected using the Menstruation Symptom Scale (MSS) and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Statistical evaluation, Data analysis; mean, pearson correlation, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and independent groups t-test were used. As a result, it was determined that regular exercise reduced menstruation symptoms and pain, while BMI did not affect menstruation symptoms.
