Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the suitable rapeseed cultivars for Siirt conditions in 2007-2008 growing season on the experimental field of Konacık Village which is depend on City Central. According to findings of experiment, the highest plant height (171.3 cm) was obtained from Elvis and the lowest plant height (95.0 cm) was obtained from Bristol, the highest 1000 seed weight (4.3 g) was obtained from Californium and the lowest (3.2 g) was obtained from Sary, the highest seed yield (326.2 kg/da) was obtained from Heros and the lowest seed yield (81.9 kg/da) was obtained from Gladiator and the highest oil content (44.72%) was obtained from Jura and the lowest oil content (37.75%) was obtained from Elvis. The highest protein content (24.0 %) was obtained from Jura and the lowest protein content (17.79 %) was obtained from Heros. Results from this study indicated that Heros, Es Hydromel and Oase cultivars in respect to yield and investigated agricultural characreristics can be grown in Siirt conditions.
