Abstract
The city of Lice suffered serious damage due to the earthquake in 1975 and subsequent conflicts and destruction. In this context, the production of the city, space, city and housing has been affected by several phases. These phases are; housing production after the earthquake, destruction after social conflicts after 1980 and production of new houses after 2000. After the earthquake, temporary container earthquake houses were produced and as a result of social conflicts after 1980, many houses were burned and became unusable. Housing production after 2000 was mostly supported by state. Container earthquake houses have been affected by the phases of Lice and transformed into a settlement practice. The users of the space have been designed container houses, which were designed as a shelter in case of emergency and according to their changing needs. This study, which aims to examine the settlement, housing, space and how the space is shaped according to needs by the users, is the first study conducted in the field of architecture and urbanism on Lice and Lice earthquake houses.
