Abstract
This study, which is based on Pinar Kur and her novels on view of literature and on psychodynamic terms Jung's argument concept of "archetype", is the first interdisciplinary analysis for Paris; which has an important place in Kur's novels. Despite negative criticisms which are owing to Paris city take place in Kur's novels, have called such as "intellectuals' Western emulation", this situation is intended to reveal the fact that "rebirth" which is actualized in the subconscious of the author. Furthermore, the study was included that Paris, which is repeated itself in author's novel's characters, and the analysis of influential "rebirth" archetype. This study, which is based on qualitative data, is an analysis performed by the psychoanalytic criticism method towards the author's creation stage. Jung's "rebirth" archetype, which contributes to psychoanalytic criticism as an element of the "collective unconscious", forms the essence of the theoretical framework. After the literature sources were browsed and the theoretical framework was gained, Pinar Kür's novels were analyzed. Based on the data obtained from the analysis, "rebirth" was followed in the Kur's life, which influenced her creation stage, and the novels. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
