Abstract
Philippe Lioret, 2009), Terraferma (Memleket, Emanuele Crialese, 2011) filmlerindeki
umut/umutsuzluk, yalnızlık, dışlanmışlık, uzaklaşma, yabancılaşma gibi varoluşsal sorunlar
analiz edildi.
This study discussed existential problems experienced by individuals trying to cross from different geographies to Europe with European individuals. So the study doesn’t just have a purpose that addresses the migration problem. To this end, efforts were made to examine the subject of migration in the context of existential philosophy, referencing the power and fascinating world of cinema. To make that happen, too, three films from immigrant cinema were chosen as samples. Within this framework, existential problems such as hope/despair, loneliness, exclusion, removal, and alienation were analyzed in the films Reise der Hoffnung (Xavier Koller, 1990), Welcome (Philippe Lioret, 2009), and Terraferma (Emanuele Crialese, 2011). According to this, the existential dialogues in these films were tried to be identified and the concrete realities experienced during migration were discussed from an existential point of view by centering the selected films.
