Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the contribution of public education centres to female employment based on the example of the Mardin Public Education Centre, in line with the views of female trainees. The research is a descriptive study based on a survey model. The study population consists of female trainees who actively participated in courses at the Mardin Artuklu Public Education Centre during the 2023-2024 academic year. The questionnaires were designed to assess the demographic characteristics of female trainees, their educational levels, and the benefits they gained from the courses. The findings show that public education centres make significant contributions to women's professional development and participation in employment. The vast majority of female trainees stated that the training they received provided support in terms of employment and starting their own businesses. In addition, it was found that the training increased women's self-confidence and contributed to gender equality. Demographic factors were also found to be influential; it was determined that young women with higher levels of education benefited more from these courses. The research presents findings consistent with the literature supporting the positive effects of community education centres on female employment. Consequently, expanding and diversifying the activities of community education centres is important for women to gain economic independence and play a more active role in community life. Future research could compare the effects of community education centres in different regions, thereby evaluating their effectiveness from a broader perspective.
