In this research, the following topics discussed in al-Samarrai's Taḥqīqātun Naḥwiyya are analyzed: the agent (fāʿil) and the deputy of the agent (nāʾib al-fāʿil), the inflection of the maqṣūr noun, the Alîf, wāw, yāʾ, and nūn attached to the ends of verbs, the second-person kāf pronoun attached to verbs, the unvowelled (sukūn) feminine tāʾ, the letters of imperfect verbs (ḥurūf al-muḍāraʿa), the implicit pronoun in the imperative verb, the inflection of nouns governed by ẓanna and its sisters, and the precedence of the subject (fāʿil) over the verb. The study addresses the debates among grammarians concerning these issues and then presents al-Sāmarrāʾī's views and arguments on each topic in detail. His positions, supported by numerous examples and strong evidences, are thoroughly set forth.
