Abstract

The Mardin Digital Bibliography is an open-access digital resource platform that brings together scholarly publications on Mardin and its districts within a verified, classified, and searchable structure. Developed by the Mardin Research Center at Mardin Artuklu University, the platform provides a common access point for the bibliographic records of books, book chapters, journal articles, theses, conference papers, and reports. Records are structured through authors, places, subjects, periods, languages, publication types, and categories, enabling users not only to locate individual sources but also to examine the literature from multiple perspectives. The “Explore Relations” section establishes explainable connections among publications with shared characteristics and supports a non-linear mode of literature discovery. Statistical views make the chronological, disciplinary, linguistic, and spatial distribution of Mardin studies observable. Turkish, English, Arabic, and Kurdish interface options provide an access environment consistent with the multilingual character of the field. Source submission and error-reporting tools further support a participatory model in which researchers and authors can contribute to the continuing development of the database. The Mardin Digital Bibliography consequently offers an integrated digital research infrastructure for compiling, preserving, accessing, and reassessing the regional scholarly literature on Mardin.
