Abstract

Environmental problems are among the problems for which solutions are sought globally. One of the concepts that has recently come to the fore to combat environmental problems worldwide is the green economy. The green economy means growing the economy by protecting natural assets and resources. Therefore, the green economy creates green jobs that include practices that involve caring about the environment and the individual. It is important to adapt to new and green technologies in carrying out green business activities, and green practices affect the labor market differently depending on the development level of a country's economy. The purpose of this entry is to examine the impact of the green economy on the labor market. It is thought that the transition to a green economy contributes to the development of gender equality by supporting women's participation in green sectors. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
