Abstract

Human; Since then, attitudes and perceptions towards his body showed positive or negativechanges due to various reasons. While the human body was ornamented and pampered in someperiods, in some periods it was considered as a malevolent object to be purified by beingrestricted and starved. The medieval period was also a period in which negative feelings andthoughts were developed against the human body. In the Renaissance period, positive thoughtsdevelop against the bed. The proportions of the human body have been drawn by importantfigures of the period such as Dürer and Leonardo Da Vinci. The aim of this study, the determineperception of body and sport in European society during the Middle Ages and Renaissanceperiod. In this study, a screening method was used. At the end of the study, In the Middle Ages itwas determined that body and sport were cursed and sinful in the western society. Besides, Inthe Renaissance period, it was determined that positive developments in body sensibility andsport perception in western society.
