Abstract
Dil insan ile toplum ve toplumun kurumları arasındaki ilişkiyi kuran önemli bir araçtır. Eğitim de insanı topluma ve toplumun ihtiyaçlarına hazırlama sürecidir. Şüphesiz ki eğitim süreci toplumun kendi dili ile yapıldığı zaman değerli ve de faydalıdır. Ne yazık ki Türkiye'de yılda milyonlarca öğrenci anadilleri dışında bir dil ile eğitime tabi tutuldukları için birçok sorun ile karşılaşıyorlar. Bu araştırmanın amacı da tek dilli okullarda eğitim göre ikidilli çocukların okuma-yazma, iletişim ve okul-sınıfa uyumda yaşadığı sorunları tespit etmektir. Bu araştırma ilkokul 1. sınıfa giden öğrencilerin yaşadığı sorunlar ile sınırlandırılmıştır. ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Araştırma hazırlanan bir mülakat formu ile yapılmıştır. Bu görüşmeler toplam 24 öğretmen ile gerçekleşmiştir. Bu öğretmenlerden 12sinin anadili Kürtçe, 11inin anadili Türkçe ve 1inin ise Arapça'dır. Bu araştırma dört bölümden oluşmuştur. İlk bölümde araştırmanın konusu, amacı, yöntemi, sınırlılığı ve çerçevesi anlatılmıştır. İkinci bölümde dil, anadil, birinci dil, ikinci dil, ikidillilik gibi terimler geniş bir şekilde anlatılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde eğitim ve dil ilişkisi açıklanıp anadilinde ve ikidilli eğitim anlatılmıştır ve son bölümde ise saha çalışmasında elde edinilen verilen değerlendirilip ve tespitler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerden anlaşıldı ki ikidilli çocuklar, eğitim dilinin farklı olmasından dolayı birçok sorun ile karşılaşıyorlar. Keza anlaşıldı ki bu ikidilli çocuklar okuma-yazma, anlama, iletişim ve öğretmen-okula uyum konusunda ciddi sorunlar yaşamaktadır. Sonuç bölümüde ise yapılan tespitler teorik zeminde tartışılıp çocukların akademik başarısı için ikidilli eğitim önerilmiştir. Anahtar kelimer: Tekdilli eğitim, ikidilllik, sorun, öğrenme sorunları
Language is an important tool that establishes a relationship between human beings, society and institutions. And education is a process that prepares human beings for the society and according to society's needs. There is no doubt that the process of education is useful and meaningful if it is done in the society's mother tongue. Unfortunately, in Turkey, millions of students face a lot of problems because they are educated in a language other than their mother tongue. The purpose of this study is to identify the bilingual students' difficulties, educated in monolingual schools, with reading, writing, communicating and adapting to class/school. The scope of this study is limited to the problems encountered by the students of 1st class in Primary school. The study was carried out with a questionnaire form. The interviews were carried out with 24 teachers in total and conducted according to this questionnaire form. Twelve of these teachers are native speakers of Kurdish, 11 of them are native speakers of Turkish and one of them is Arabic This study consists of 3 chapters. The first chapter concentrates on terms such as language, mother tongue, first language, second language and bilingualism in detail. The second chapter explains the relationship between education and language, and discusses the bilingual education and education in mother tongue. The last chapter includes observations and assessment of data collected in the field. It's concluded that bilingual children face many problems when they are educated in another language other than their mother tongue. It's also concluded that bilingual children have serious difficulty with reading, writing, understanding, communicating and adapting to school. In the conclusion, assessments are discussed theoretically and bilingual education is suggested for children to be successful academically.
