Afrahat ve 'Taḥwîtho d-Ṭûṭîtho' Adlı İspatı: Çeviri-Değerlendirme

Abstract

Tezimiz, 'Afrahat'ın Üzüm Salkımı Hakkındaki Yirmi Üçüncü İspat' bölümü çerçevesinde ele alınacağı için, Afrahat'ın (MS 270 – 345) kim olduğu, eseri ve edebi kişiliği ele alınmıştır. Özellikle Afrahat'ın 'İspatlar' isimli eserinin bir bölümü olan 'Yirmi Üçüncü İspat'ın Türkçeye tercüme edilerek literatüre kazandırılması hedeflenmiştir. Bu konuyla ilgili ülkemizde ulaşabildiğimiz herhangi bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Afrahat'ın yirmi üç ispatı, Süryani İncil metinlerinin tarihini, tefsirini ve biraz da kristolojisini konu aldığı için Süryani literatürü açısından klasik dönemin başlangıcını temsil eder. Ayrıca İspatlar'ın ilk on bölümü, Hristiyanların temel inanç prensiplerini ve yapmaları gereken sorumlulukları konu almaktadır. Diğerleri ise Yahudilikle ilgilidir ve Hristiyanlar arasındaki Yahudilik eğilimleri ile mücadele etmeyi konu edinir. Dönemin siyasî olaylarından bahsederken bu olaylara Allah'tan başka kimsenin müdahale edemeyeceğini vurgular. Bu konu hakkında da sadece Tevrat'ı kaynak olarak gösterir. İspatımızın temel konusu üzüm salkımı ve içindeki bereketin soyları korumasıdır. Tezimizin Giriş kısmında, araştırmamızın amacı, sınırları ve üzerinde durulan kaynaklar belirtilmiştir. Birinci Bölüm'de, Afrahat'ın kim olduğuna, edebi kişiliğine ve İspatlar başlıklarına yer verilmiştir. İkinci Bölüm'de, Üzüm Salkımı Hakkındaki İspat'ın Süryanice ve tercüme metni ile tercümede geçen şahıslar, yerler ve kavramlar hakkında açıklamalara yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü Bölüm'de ise üzümün bereketi ve üzümün kilisedeki anlamından bahsedilmiştir. Since our thesis will be considered in the frame of 'Aphrahat's Twenty – third Demonstration about the Grapecluster', the identity of Aphrahat (AD 270 – 345), his work and his literary identity have been discussed. In particular, the aim was to translate the 'Twenty – third Demonstration', one of Aphrahat's works and demonstrations. There is no work available on this subject in our country. The twenty – three demonstrations of Aphrahat represent the beginning of the classical period in terms of Syriac literature as they deal with the history and commentary of the Syriac Bible texts. The first ten chapters of the Demonstrations also address the basic principles of Christians and the responsibilities they must uphold. The others are related to Judaism and the resistance against Judaic tendencies among Christians. When discussing the political events of the period, Aphrahat emphasized that no one except God can intervene in these events. He solely refers to the Torah as a reference on this subject. The essence of the Demonstration revolves around the Grapecluster and the blessing inside it, which safeguards the generations. In the introduction of this thesis, we focused on the purpose, limitations and the resources of our research. The first chapter provides information on Aphrahat, his literary identity and a list of the titles of the Demonstrations. The second part entails the translation of the Demonstration on the Grapecluster followed by explanations about the people, places and concepts in the translation. The third chapter delves into the blessing of grapes and their significance in the church.
