Abstract
Mimar Sinan’ın çıraklarından olup onun ölümüyle birlikte Hassa
Mimarlar Ocağı Teşkilatı’nın başına geçen Dâvud Ağa 1588-98 yılları
arasında imparatorluğa başmimarlık yapmıştır. Henüz Mimar Sinan’ın
sağlığı ve başmimarlığı döneminde inşa edilen Çarşamba Mehmed Ağa
Camisi kitâbesine imzasını koyma şansını elde eden Dâvud Ağa’nın Sinan
tarafından başarılı bulunup desteklenen mimarlardan olduğu açıktır. Daha
sonra Divanyolu Koca Sinan Paşa Külliyesi ve Sinan Paşa Kasrı’nın çeşme
üstündeki kitâbesine imzasını koyan Dâvud Ağa Osmanlı mimarlığı ve Sinan
ekolünün devamcısı olmakla birlikte kendi üslûp anlayışını da inşa ettiği
eserlere yansıtmıştır. Sinan’dan edindiği mimari birikime kendine has üslûp
özelliklerini de ekleyen Dâvud Ağa kendisinden sonraki mimarları da
etkilemiştir. Bu çalışmada Dâvud Ağa imzalı eserler her bakımdan
incelenerek başmimarın üslûbu belirlenmeye çalışılacaktır.
