Maarif Nezareti Salnamelerine Göre Erzurum Vilayeti'nde Eğitim

Abstract

19.yüzyılda Osmanlı Devleti'nde yayınlanan maarif salnameleri eğitim ile ilgili pek çok bilgiyi barındırmaktadır. Özellikle Tanzimat'tan sonra Osmanlı eğitim ve kültür tarihi açısından çok zengin bir içeriğe sahip olan maarif salnamelerinde; öğretmenler, öğrenciler, memurlar, okullar, kütüphaneler, matbaalar ve gazeteler gibi eğitimle ilgili çeşitli bilgiler bulunmaktadır. Bu salnamelerden Erzurum Vilayeti eğitim faaliyetleri araştırılmıştır. Yıllıklar olarak bilinen salnamelerde Erzurum Vilayeti eğitim faaliyetleri ile ilgili Müslim-Gayrimüslim tebaa çocuklarının eğitim gördüğü ibtidai, rüşdi ve idadi okulların sayısı, bu okullarda eğitim veren muallimlerin isim ve sayıları, okulların dereceleri ile tarihleri bulunmakta; ayrıca bu okulların ruhsatlı-ruhsatsız, ücretli-ücretsiz, leyli(yatılı)-gündüzlü vb. zengin bilgiler içermekte olup bu bilgilerden yararlanılmıştır. Osmanlı Devleti eğitim alanında kız öğrencilerin de mahrum kalmaması için İnas (kız) rüşdiyeler açmıştır. Ayrıca sosyal ve kültürel alanda matbaa, gazete ve kütüphaneler ile ilgili bilgiler yine salnamelerden ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmamıza konu olan 1316-1317-1318-1319 ve 1321 salnamelerden yararlanılarak Erzurum'da yapılan eğitim faaliyetlerine ulaşılmıştır.

Educational activities in Erzurum Province were researched from these yearbooks. In the yearbooks known as 'Yearbooks', the number of primary, secondary and secondary schools where the children of Muslim and non-Muslim subjects were educated, the names and numbers of the teachers teaching in these schools, the degrees and dates of the schools are included in the educational activities of Erzurum Province; In addition, these schools are licensed or unlicensed, paid or unpaid, boarding or day, etc. It contains rich information and this information was used. The Ottoman Empire opened İnas (girls' secondary schools) to ensure that female students were not deprived of education. In addition, information about printing houses, newspapers and libraries in the social and cultural field was obtained from yearbooks. The educational activities carried out in Erzurum were reached by using the 1316-1317-1318-1319 and 1321 yearbooks, which are the subject of our research.
