Liselerin fiziki yapısına ilişkin öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerinin incelenmesi: Mardin-Kızıltepe örneği

Abstract

Eğitim- öğretim hayatında başarıyı etkileyen birçok faktör bulunmaktadır. Öğretmenlerin kendilerine özgü ders anlatma teknikleri, kullanılan materyaller ya da dersin içeriği gibi faktörlerin yanı sıra okul binasının fiziki durumu, çevre ile ilişkisi ve okul mimarisinin gelişimi de öğrenci başarısı üzerinde doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak etkide bulunabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada okulun fiziki yapısına, bu yapının öğrenci başarısı üzerindeki etkisine ve okul tasarımının nasıl olabileceğine ilişkin öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerini almak ve geleceğin okul tasarımlarına katkı sunmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Okulun fiziki yapısına ilişkin gerekli literatür taraması yapılmış ve fiziki duruma ilişkin genel bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın devamında Mardin'in Kızıltepe ilçesinde yer alan ve araştırmaya dahil edilen liselerde görev yapan öğretmenler ile öğrenim gören öğrencilerin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilen görüşmeler sonucunda ulaşılan bulgulara yer verilmiştir. Öğretmen ve öğrencilerin okulun fiziki yapısı ve öğrenci başarısına etkisi hakkında görüşleri çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Öğretmen ve öğrencilerin bir kısmı okulun fiziki yapısının yeterli ve eğitim için uygun olduğunu düşünürken, bir kısmı da okulun sahip olduğu fiziki yapının yetersiz olduğunu ve bu yetersizliklerin eğitimin kalitesini etkilediğini belirtmişlerdir. Son olarak okulun fiziki yapısının nasıl olması gerektiğine dair öğretmen ve öğrencilerin önerilerine yer verilmiştir.

There are many factors influence success in education. In addition to teachers' unique teaching techniques, using materials or such as content of the lesson factors; physical structure of school, environmental relationship and development of school architecture affect students' success directly or indirectly. In this study, it was aimed to get the opinions of teachers and students about the physical structure of the school, the effect of this structure on student achievement and how the school design can be and contribute to the school designs of the future. In this study, case study which is the one of the qualitative research methods is used. The necessary literature review on the physical structure of the school has been made and general information about the physical situation is given. Following the study, the findings of the research conducted with open-ended questions on high school students, teachers and administrators in Kızıltepe district of Mardin have been included. Teachers 'and students' opinions about the physical structure of the school and its impact on student achievement vary. While some of the teachers and students thought that the physical structure of the school was adequate and suitable for education, some of them stated that the physical structure of the school was inadequate and these deficiencies affect the quality of education. Finally, the suggestions of teachers and students about the physical structure of the school should be given.
