Savur'da sosyal ve ekonomik hayat (233 Numaralı Şer'iyye Siciline göre)

Abstract

Osmanlı Devletinin sosyal ve ekonomik tarihinin önemli kaynaklarından biri, şer'iyye sicilleri ve genellikle bu sicillerin içerisinde kayıtlı olan terekelerdir. Şer'iyye sicilleri aynı zamanda ait oldukları yerleşim yeri için de önemli bir şehir tarihi kaynağıdır. Siciller, ilgili kişilerin kasabası, köyü veya mezrasının idari açıdan nereye bağlı olduğunu, eski yer ve bölge isimlerini, ailelerin kullandıkları eşyaları, giyim kuşamları, evlerinin yapısını, kişi sayılarını, isimlerini, unvanlarını, mensubiyetlerini, uğraş alanlarını, ürettikleri ve tükettiklerini, yapılan ticareti ve ekonomik durumlarını barındırması açısından yerleşim yeri ile ilgili genel bilgilere ulaşmayı sağlayacak temek kaynaklardır. Bu bağlamda Savur Kazasının sosyal ve ekonomik hayatını ortaya koymak için 5 Mayıs 1900 ile 18 Mart 1907 tarihlerini kapsayan 233 numaralı Savur şer'iyye sicili, çalışmanın ana kaynağını oluşturmuştur. Bu çalışma giriş üç bölüm ve sonuç kısımlarından meydana gelmiştir. Giriş kısmında konumuza kaynaklık eden Savur şer'iyye sicili şekil ve içerik yönünden tanıtılmıştır. Bölgenin demografik yapısını, idari yapısını ve tarihsel süreç içerisindeki rolünü anlamak için kısa tarihçe verilmiştir. Ayrıca Savur'un bölgedeki stratejik konumu, ticaret yolları ve yürütülen tarım faaliyetleri açısından tarihi coğrafya açıklanmıştır. Birinci bölümde gündelik hayat içerisinde toplumun en küçük birimi olan aile ele alınarak aile yaşantısı, aile bireyleri arasındaki ilişkiler ve anlaşmazlıklar üzerinden toplumsal yapı çözülmeye çalışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde Savur halkının yaşam alanları, yaşadıkları evlerin özellikleri, evlerde kullanılan eşyalar, süs ve giyim eşyaları ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde Savur'da ekonomik faaliyetler içerisinde yetiştirilen ve ticareti yapılan tarım ürünleri, üretimde kullanılan tarım aletleri, üretimde hayvan varlığı ve tüketilen gıdalar ele alınmıştır.

One of the main resources of the social and economic history of the Ottoman State is the registries of religious courts and the heritages which are generally recorded within these registries. These registries are also main history resources for the places they are located. The registries are the major resources, which provide access to general information of a certain place and shows where this town, village or hamlet is officially annexed to, the names of ancient places and regions, the materials used by families, their clothing, structures of their dwellings, number of people, their names, titles, origins, occupations, productions and consumptions, trade and economic status. In this aspect the main resource of this study, which aims to show the socio-economic life of the district of Savur, is the Savur Religious Court registry numbered 233 and covering the period between 5 May 1900 and 18 March 1907. This study consists of an introduction, three sections and conclusion. In the introduction part, Savur Religious Court registry is introduced in terms of form and contents. A brief history is presented to understand the demographic status, administrative structure and the role of the region within the historical process. In addition, the historical geography is presented in terms of strategic position of Savur in the region, trade routes and agricultural activities. In the first section, family, which forms the smallest unit of the society is addressed and the social structure is studied via family life, relations between family members and the disputes. In the second section, the social environment, features of their dwellings and the materials, ornaments and clothes used are studied. In the third section, agricultural products produced and used for trading in Savur, agricultural tools used in production, the livestock existence in production and the foods consumed are mentioned.
