Abstract
Abstract: This study was conducted to determine grain yield and grain performance of 25 different bread wheat varieties and lines in Diyarbakır ecological conditions in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 winter plant growth seasons. Experiments were carried out in randomized complete block design with three replications. In the experiment; plant height (cm), heading time, grain yield (kg ha-1), thousand kernel weight (g), hectoliter weight (kg) and protein ratio (%) were examined. It was found out that grain yield ranged between 5145 and 8209 kg ha-1. The highest grain yield was obtained from the genotype 18, while the lowest grain yield was obtained from the genotype 3 (5145 kg ha-1). In terms of hectoliter weight, a quality factor, the highest value was obtained from the genotypes 19 and 24 (81.8 kg) while the highest protein content (11.9 %) was obtained from the genotype 1. According to the results of this study, it was seen that some genotypes (9, 17, 18, 19 and 24) obtained from abroad were found to be promising in terms of yield and quality characters.
