Abstract
This study is the transcription and evaluation of Derik Sharia Registry Book numbered 272 (H.1322-1327/M.1905-1910). The documents in the book studied include subjects reflecting the familial, social and economic status of the city. These subjects include different social cases such as marriage contract (marriage) and divorce, dowry, estate, guardianship and surety. Regarding economic life, there are records of inheritance sharing, shopping, sales cases and information about expenses incurred in the city. The place names of the region, the names of Muslim and non-Muslim individuals or families in these books provide important clues about the demographics of the city. Thus, a contribution will be made to urban historiography with the guidance of a first-hand source, especially in Derik, which was a district of Diyarbekir province at that time.
