Abstract
Mardin'deki Süryani dinsel sanatında iki tür resme rastlamaktayız. Birincisi, yok olmanın eşiğinde olan geleneksel basma sanatındaki resimlerdir; konuları ya bilinen Hıristiyan konularıdır ya da Süryanilere özgü olanlardır; renkleri ve tarzı bakımından ise oldukça nitelikli ve özgündür. Bu resim türü, perdelerde, çeşitli örtülerde ve dinsel kıyafetlerde, dinsel tasvirler, semboller ve ikonlar ya da bunların bileşimleri şeklinde kendini gösteren bir Süryani karakteristiğidir. İkincisi ise Süryani kilisesine sonradan girmiş olan figüratif tuval resmidir. Bu resimler ikonografik açıdan anlamlıdır ve Süryani cemaatinin bu yöndeki beklentilerini karşılamaktadır.
We encounter two types of painting in Assyrian religious art in Mardin. First, paintings in traditional chintz art which on the verge of destruction; the subjects of them are common Christian issues or issues special to Syrians; they are very qualified and unique in terms of colours and styles. This painting type is a characteristic of Syriac shows itself on curtains, linens and a variety of religious clothing, religious imagery, symbols and icons or combinations thereof. The second is the Syriac church, which came later figurative paintings on. These pictures they are meaningful in terms of iconography and meet the expectations of the Syriac community in this path.
