Abstract

This chapter examines how teacher leadership is being redefined in the age of agentic artificial intelligence (AI). It first synthesizes theoretical foundations of teacher leadership and pedagogical agency, situating them within emerging AI-driven educational contexts. It then explores how leadership is reconfigured through hybrid human-machine ecologies, highlighting the instructional, professional, and ethical roles of teachers. Practical applications and case insights from diverse contexts demonstrate how AI literacy, collaboration, and curriculum design intersect with leadership practices. Finally, the chapter further identifies key policy and practice implications, emphasizing professional development, governance, and equity considerations. By bridging theoretical, practical, and policy dimensions, the chapter argues that teacher leadership is central to ensuring that AI integration remains aligned with human judgment, ethics, and democratic values.
